World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King

Some of you may be aware that the highly anticipated Wrath of the Lich King expansion for the very successful World of Warcraft online computer game was released on 13 November, just under two weeks ago. But did you know it became the fastest selling computer game of all time? Pretty impressive stuff to sell around 2.5 million copies in a single day…

For those of you who don’t know what World of Warcraft (commonly refered to as WoW) is yet, you’ve probably be living under a rock. For those of you that do, you’re probably disgusted by the potential lifebreaker that it can become, or you’re a big fan of the spell casting, sword swinging online adventure. In WoW, you create an online avatar/character that you can specialize right from the start with Race (Dwarf, Orc, Human, etc.), a class (Warlock, Warrior, Mage, etc.), and appearance. Players can then guide their online character through various quests and battle other players in a massive open-end world, all in collecting various items and advancing in your storyline. Players can also chat online by typing (obviously) and using various emotions such as “/e dance”, at which point your character will start doing a dance unique to his or her race.

WotLK packs an impressive package for those playing WoW. Here’s just some of the changes:
–) A new continent–Northrend–to explore and quest in.
–) A new playable class–Death Knight–avaliable to experienced, high-level WoW players.
–) A new profession–Inscription–that allows for the modification of the individual abilities of characters.
–) An entirely new branch in the already huge storyline.
–) Improved graphics and game engine.

If you’re interested in playing World of Warcraft, be it Lich King or not, you may have to save up some dough. World of Warcraft itself costs around $20 these days, the previous expansion needed for WotLK–The Burning Crusade–is around $30, and Lich King will set you back another $40, not to mention the $15 per month game fee for your online account. But if you’re looking for one of the best games out there, especially if you’re looking for an online game, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King is what you need to look into!

Hey it’s almost Thanksgiving!

Hey there wiispacers! It’s almost Thanksgiving and you know what that means! Ok, it really doesn’t mean much except that it’s almost Thanksgiving.

Our Make A Commercial for Wiispace contest ends this Friday at 6PM PT which means you have less than a week to finish up your commercial and post a link to your video in this thread.

Other than that bit of news we have another edition of the Wiispace Weekly from SuperQ! Yay!
