Could The Midway Label Be No More?

July 12, 2009 by Mark Barley Editor in Chief

Midway

The recently purchased “Midway” label could cease to exist with Warner Bros. now taking over the reigns.  This goes for the Mortal Kombat frachise as well.

“Midway Games Inc. still exists, and the Midway trademark and games such as Mortal Kombat and This is Vegas and most of the IP library are now owned by Warner Bros,” a Midway spokesperson told Kotaku.

“It will be up to Warner Bros. to determine how they will approach their branding strategy.”

The whole point is that Midway has been around since the 1950’s and it would just be a tad bit weird to see Warner Bros. label on things that Midway used to publish.
