Design a Wii Skin contest!

Hi everyone, we have a new advertiser on the forums, PimpMyWii, and they have graciously offered to sponsor a very cool contest here on wiispace.

The contest is to design an original skin for the Wii.

You can create the artwork yourself, or provide a rough sketch.

Even if you aren't a great artist or handy with Photoshop, if you can come up with a cool concept, you could still win! So everyone has a chance of winning!

The winner of the contest will be voted on by the mods, PimpMyWii and then the forum membership will vote via a poll (see below in the rules).

Rules:
  • As much as we'd love to use Mario and Zelda on a skin, we would be unable to produce it due to copyright laws
  • Further to this, winners will only be selected from concepts that do not include copyright images/concepts
  • Winners will have their skin produced with matching wiimotes and posted to them
  • The skin will be a one-off exclusively for the winner
  • If the winner has used his or her own art, then we would require this in at least 300 dpi before making the skin
  • When posting the skin to the winner, his/her country may charge customs/duty tax. The winner would be responsible for that fee.
  • 5 concepts will be shortlisted and then it's peoples vote to decide the winner
Contest Tips:
  • Our artists will take care of the design if you think your Photoshop is bad! Concentrate on the concept
  • Sometimes simple is best
  • The Wii console has effectively 4 sides useful for skinning. Make use of the shape and the front face
  • Use the template as a guide to the areas of the design
If you use photoshop. you can download a rough template here for photoshop (PSD) giving everyone the idea of cut lines should they need a canvas to work from.

This contest will most likely be updated with more info in the next few days!
