Link May Fly In Next Zelda Title

Eiji Aonuma, Zelda producer, recently hinted in an interview that Link may get the ability to fly around Hyrule in the next Zelda title.

“I have an eight-year-old son myself at home, and quite recently he started playing The Phantom Hourglass for DS, because when the software first hit the market he was too young,” he said.

“When he started playing with the boat, I told him: ‘In the next Zelda, you are going to be able to ride on the train.’ He answered: ‘OK, Dad, first boat, and then train? Surely next time, Link is going to fly in the sky … ‘

“I just don’t know. If many people make many speculations … some of them might be correct. Right now, I have to refrain from commenting on anything.”

The game is set to be unveiled at E3 2010.

Spud497 The Tales of Symphonia Master	hmmm, could this be the downfall of zelda? Admittedly flying would be cool, but i feel like it would be removing the exploration side of the game. I mean half the fun was using Epona to get everywhere u needed to be. I like to admire the sceneary while travelling from place to place and flying from place to place might eliminate this factor.....

No.

How would flying around lessen the ability to take in the scenery? You'd just be getting a broader view. Besides, it's not as if you'd be spending the majority of the time flying; it would most likely be a transportation system that you rarely use.

Anyway, it was just an answer to his son's question. I wouldn't make much of it, but it would be pretty neat, in my opinion.

dnxviral Junior Member	Flying It would be interesting how one would integrate flying into zelda, just because of all the other ways of exploration. If I really wanted link to fly I would have a bird but then again that seems too boring just a bird yea too boring.
