Ok, I'm not the best Halo player but I'm decent. I've only had the game for a month. So I'm making this thread to post tips on playing in multiplayer. Anyone else can add tips that have this game. You can include tips on certain map or overall game tips. Number the tips correctly and add on to my previous tips. For example if I write a post with tips numbered 1 through 7, You'll will start off your tips 8 through whatever. There will be some double posting but only on tips.



#1 Practice with the sniper. Play a lot of social games if you want to practice with any good weapon. There's many situations where the sniper will be good. For example on the Pit. While everyone is going for the rockets theres a good chance a lot of your team mates will have died. But before they died they most likely took the opposing teams shields down. With there shields almost or completely gone just start sniping them down. No head shot needed. Easy kills. This also works on Valhalla. Get the sniper, get in a good position with the middle of the map in view and just start picking people off. It might make your team mates mad but you actually helping them out.

#2 No scoping with the sniper is a must. One sweet move you can do is, no scope once (taking there shields completely off) and then meleeing. It can be done so fast and is very hard to stop. Also no scoping will only take 2 shots to kill a person. Sometimes you'll get lucky and head shot them. If you want to be a good sniper, you're going to have to be able to do this if someone sneaks up right next to you while you're sniping.

3. Get good at not being splattered. The worst way to die is to get run over by some maniac in a vehicle. So what i do. Is always have one eye on the map. The when you see a big red dot coming towards you turn around and face it. or if its too close, then just jump when you see its right about to hit you.

#4 While playing on Snowbound I'd say 70% of the fighting is done in the basement tunnels. Here's a good way to own the other team. Have you ever found your entire team on one side of those blue plasma doors and the enemy team on the other side? The smart thing to do is to leave that spot and try to get on the opposite side of the enemy team. They're so focused on 3 people in front of them they dont even bother looking around. Just start launching grenades down there because they'll be staying in an a group. This is how I got my one overkill. I took out their entire team by myself. It really works. Snowbound is defintely the best place to do this.

#6 Owning the Swordmen Heres a tip to always to kill a swordsman in Halo 3. When playing on the Pit you've probably encountered the fighting in the Sword room. Someone always has a sword. Instead of lofting grenades up trying to kill the guy with the sword go get the shotgun. Get in view of the swordsman and let him run at you. When he's at the perfect distance pull the trigger. Heres a phrase that you should remember. "The shotgun, a long ranged sword" I have no idea why people always wants to get the sword when the shotgun wins 90% of the time. So whenever you guys want to clear out the sword room. Let some one go in first with a shotgun. It's a pretty basic tip but only a few people actually try to do it.

But that's a timing thing. If the server is laggy, the swordsman has an Oversheild, or you're timing is even slightly off, you die. Trust me. I know all the weaknesses of the shotty compared to the sword, that's why I usually win against shotty's, unless they 'nade me first...

That why I gave it 90% chance of winning against the sword. Once you have the sword you feel like you're unstoppable. Right? It is a timing thing but the guy with the sword won't be expecting it. I mean the shotty blends in pretty good. The timing isn't that hard. Since I'm posting I'll put in another tip.

#7 Using the Turret When using the turret you're going to want to communicate with your team a lot. I say this because of a sniper. Ask your teammates if any of them has the sniper or if they know that the other team has it. If your team has the sniper, its all clear to use the turret. If the other team has a turret, ask the same question a little later in the game. Its very easy to get a head shot with the sniper when the opposing team is using the turret. Never use the turret for more than 20 seconds mounted. The sniper will eventually see you and kill you.

This guy is open to any sniper near the beach.

Okay this is a tip that everyone will want.

#8 Don't Pick Up Certain Weapons Every game starts off with one powerful weapon near by such as the Spartan Laser or Sniper. I will say this once, if you're not good with the weapon don't pick it up. Don't pick up the sniper if its sitting there and you know you're not good with it. Communicate with your team mates and ask them if any of them are good with the Sniper or Laser. The last thing we need is someone picking up the sniper and walking off with it and losing it because he or she is horrible with it. All you accomplish by doing this is losing a good weapon

#9 Grenades In Sword Room
In the map "The Pit" you may have not noticed this but directly infront of those ramps where you get to the sword room theres block holes near the ceiling. They're perfect for throwing grenades through. When ever you think someone is in the Sword room with the sword just throw in a few grenades through those holes hurting him. Its a perfect way to clean up one hell of a mess going on in there.

10. driving
if you are on a map that has vehicles. and you know you can't drive very well. DONT. nothing pisses me off more than getting in the back of a warthog and having the driver not knowing how to help me get a better shot. so work on driving. i have gotten many compliments on my driving. because im good.
