No and No.

Each week will be 16 races starting at 8:00 EST on Tuesdays, if you can't do that then just say your out, there's no way everyone's schedule will fit, im not changeing it. An hour is really not that long, think of it as a little league baseball game only you dont have to go to the park and it's even shorter than a ballgame

Seriously? A karting season sounds like an excellent idea! But 12 Weeks? That seems kinda long. Why not just go for 8? Or why not do a week long tournament and the contestants post the results? This sounds like a more realistic idea. You can set up your own time with your opponent by sending each other messages after exchanging all the necessary wiicodes. If anyone else thinks they'd be willing to give this a sho, hit me with a pm and see what can be arranged.

bowling leagues happen all over the nation and they are 12 weeks long so I really dont think it's a big deal to spend an hour each week once a week plus like I've said, you get two absences. ownage, you know whats dumb? Signing up for something when you knew the format and then decided it's dumb and your out. Don't be a jerk, if it doesent work for YOU I understand just say so but you don't have to put the whole idea down. Go host your own thing but you'll be missing my mad organizational skillz

Redsox, really what's 4 more weeks? Also, as far as your other idea goes, trust me, it doesent work. We tried it with SSBB and it wasw a disaster. These people that sign up need to know ahead of time when their playing and the nice thing about this is it's every Tuesday at 8:00 EST for 12 weeks.

For those of you that want to play on a Thursday, I might organize it for you but not play, look for a thread soon.

Yup the friend rooms keep score in a Grand Prix style but only allow to play the usual 4 courses at a time which are all voted for prior to each one. At the end of the 4 it just gives you your placing amonst those who have raced. Works pretty well but would be ace if you could drag it out into a 16 race haul but sadly not so would need to just play the 4 Grand Prix's and total up the scores.
As for the tracks you have to vote so the easier way would probs be if everyone always voted for 'random' then theres no faviourites on purpose?

I've added the new schedule, rules, and taken out ownage.
Also added a weekly score sheet I will be using, feel free to use it to keep up with the score.

Looks pretty sweet. Looking through the posts on page one, there were a 3 or 4 that were hesitant about joining, and one that said he would if and when he bought the game. Should we give them a PM? That would nearly fill our ranks, and then we can have a nice preliminary round (just a quick get together for one race or something) sometime within the next couple weeks just to make sure our connections are secure and no one will lag out (hasn't been much of a problem that I've seen) and drag the tourny down.
