Nintendo loses $21 Million to Anascape Verdict

Posted: May 18, 2008 by Wiispace

After nearly two years of litigation, it was announced announced this week that Nintendo has lost it’s patent infringement case brought on by Anascape LTD of Tyler Texas.

“We are extremely pleased with the jury’s verdict, Anascape may be a tiny company compared to Nintendo, but the verdict confirms that the company’s technology is second to none.”

The suit involved Nintendo controllers which were claimed to have infringed on Anascapes patents. The controllers specifically mentioned in the suit include the GameCube controller, GameCube Wavebird controller and the Wii Classic controller.

Microsoft was also sued by Anascape for infringing on it’s patents as well, but chose to settle.
