wi-fi - passwords work with The Wii?
In order to get online with The Wii, I bought a wireless router. I never password protected it b/c I didnt think I could. My regular computer was hooked up thru an ethernet cable... I was going to get the special USB hook-up but I figured if I got the router, I could use that if I ever got a laptop. Well, that day has come -- and unexpectedly early
So.. now my question is since I connect to my wireless router on my laptop too, I want a secure network and how do I do that? Can I create a WEP and still use The Wii thru the same router?Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

So does that mean I don't have to enter a password everytime I turn on The Wii? Or does that option not even occur b/c I enter the IP address thru the router setup.
Sorry - I am pretty technically savvy but boy the Wi-Fi stuff kinda confuses me. Didn't understand your internet explorer comment.

lol 1. find your ip address then enter that address in internet explorer. 2. set up your wep there :note: you may have to enter a username and pass in the ip address. if its your first time just try the username *admin* and don't put a pass 3. then save your wep code and write it down 4. then on your wii go to settings then internet then search for acceas point then enter your wep code. 5. so now you can access the internet.
