Virtua Striker 3 ver. 2002 Not Working

Nintendo GameCube games should work with Wii, so I bought Virtua Striker 3 ver. 2002, inserted the disc in Wii, started the game, but I'm stuck at a screen that says:

"Create the System File."
"Select a Slot."
"[Slot A]"

I have tried starting the game with a GameCube 64 MB Memory Card (made by Vidis Electronic Vertriebs GmbH) in slot A and then in slot B and also without it. I have also tried to start the game with and without Wii Classic Controller, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

I you will need a game cube controller for the game to work, it does not work with the new wii controllers and the classic controller. I have Virtua striker 2002 and I am looking for newer releases than this one...
