Batman Arkham City could be an ongoing game
It looks like Batman: Arkham city could be extended a fair bit with DLC. We already know that the challenge maps alone add hours of gameplay in some cases, but “future episodes”, now that’s something else. In a recent interview with the very man that voices Batman, Kevin Conroy stated the following:
The thing about Arkham City is that it’s going to be an ongoing game. You’re going to be able to download future episodes of it, so it’s going to be going on for quite a while. I’ve been recording it for a while. So that will continue. With Conroy working hard recording more for Arkham City it’s certainly possible that Rocksteady have a little more up their sleeves. At the same time, it’s very possible that Conroy is mixing up his voice acting terms for TV with Gaming and is merely referring to challenge maps, but surely they wouldn’t require that much?

Mega Man X2 has just been rated by the ESRB for the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console. Generally Virtual Console games are released in Japan first before coming to North America, but it looks as though this title should be coming to North America first. No word of a release date as of yet but it should be just around the corner.

Nintendo of Australia has told technology blog Gizmodo that the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Program has been extended to September 30th. This will give those gamers who purchased their Nintendo 3DS before August 12th plenty of time to register for the twenty free Virtual Console games. All you will need to do is download a PDF from Nintendo Australia’s website and post it along with proof of purchase.
Instead of being automatically registered for the program by connecting to the Nintendo eShop, 3DS owners will now have to download a PDF from Nintendo Australia’s website, and post in that form along with proof of purchase. You’ll have until September 30 to do so.SOURCE

Nintendo Could Be Working On A ‘Massively Single-Player’ Animal Crossing Online

Nintendo Wii U: Nintendo Could Be Working On A ‘Massively Single-Player’ Animal Crossing Online

Nintendo has applied for a patent for a “massively single-player” game. Though no specific game is mentioned, the blurb for the patent indicates similarities to an online version of Animal Crossing. The game would be played in single player mode, but actions from other players playing the same game would filter through into your game via the Internet.
An example given had one player spotting a pile of building materials in a virtual world and making a house out of it. Since the world is the same, the next player to happen along finds not a heap of lumber and tools, but a finished house (with the builder nowhere to be seen). Additionally, Nintendo’s filing suggested that one player could gossip to a non-player character in the world, who would then pass it along to other players.
“Those who want to play games that are more dynamic, not-based on Al and not-pre-scripted like multiplayer games, however, don’t want to ‘deal’ with other people, appreciate the privacy it provides.”
