I don't know about everyone out there, but I'm definitely excited to see Disney's rendition of Prince of Persia starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
There are new photos that have surfaced from the set where they are shooting the movie. You can see all the new shots over at Empire.
The movie looks as if it's shaping up nicely and it's Gyllenhaal's first real action movie. It will be out next summer.

MTV is reporting that they got to witness, first hand, a build of Borderlands that contained more than 3 million weapon combination's. Folks, that's huge.
In fact, the accurate number was 3,166,880.
The game is being produced by Gearbox and they have been touting the games weapon selection for quite a while now. Here's hoping that it's not just smoke and mirrors.
Borderlands is out later this year for the 360, PC, and PS3.

Wii Sports Resort (Wii) Review
By: SuperQ
July 28th, 2009
7:03 pm

Hello everyone. We all know Wii Sports Resort is out now. But how is it? I mean, how good is it? Well, that depends on what you're looking forward to in the game. Today, I will be reviewing very differently. Instead of reviewing the game as a whole, or going over each of the 24 individual games, I will be reviewing each category, after which, I will be rating the usual Sound, Graphics, etc. So, let's start off with with one of my favorites, shall we?
Swordplay
It's really funny, really; I didn't really look forward to Swordplay. I mean, sure, 1:1 sword controls sound cool, but I think the inclusion of Skydiving, and other Air Sports was more exciting. Boy, was I wrong. Swordplay, to begin, is VERY accurate. You tremble a little? You can see your sword mimicking that on the screen. It's very cool, and it feels like you're actually part of the game. The motion controls are very easy to get used to, and become natural; I thought I'd be terrible at blocking, and swinging, but I'm a natural at it. It's very easy to get addicted to this game; I nearly spent two hours on all three modes combined, maybe even more. Duel is your middle man in this category; it offers a good mix of strategy, and hand-eye coordination. Speed Slice is very simplistic, but you must react quickly as the game goes on. Showdown is the hardest, but it's also very fun. You are given 3 hearts. Get struck once, and you lose one. Lose all three, and you're done for. This isn't a problem in the first few levels, but when you get to the second half of levels, you'll find yourself, cursing, yelling, and sweating even more; it gets intense. But, I should say the last two levels of Showdown are in the castle, and the volcano in the center of the island. Overall, the levels are very cool looking, especially at night.
Score: 9.5
Wakeboarding
Wakeboarding is iffy. I love playing it, and have a blast doing it, but it doesn't feel real. You hold the Wii Remote on its side, and tilt to steer. You're being pulled by a boat, and you're supposed to 'ramp' up the small waves created by the boat. When you speed into it, you thrust up in the Wii Remote, and you jump. You must straighten the Wii Remote upon landing, or you'll crash, and lose the progress in the combos you make. You're also given an optional mode where you can play for fun for 5 minutes. I don't like the face you're timed...
Score: 7.5
Archery
Are you excited for Archery? Well good news, because it's the most realistic-feeling sport in the entire game. You hold the Wii Remote and Nunchuck in the opposite hands in which you would normally hold them. I was skeptical at first, but after warming up to it, it became easy. Well, define easy. As you keep playing, the levels get more tricky. You may be getting bulls-eyes at first, but it won't last, until you train some more. Oh, and good luck getting the fruit hidden on each level; they are hard to get... Very hard.
Score: 8.5
Frisbee
If you haven't noticed already, I'm going by the order of the sports by the main screen. There are just so many sports, it's hard to name them all! Take Frisbee, for example... To be honest, after games like Swordplay and Wakeboarding, Frisbee just doesn't come to mind. But Frisbee offers a very solid experience. Frisbee Dog's pretty much what I said a few days ago; Nintendogs on the Wii, minus the dog care. It's fine, though. I like this sport a lot. It's not exactly the game to buy this collection for, but it's very good. The controls are accurate, and you're even given two different ways to throw your Frisbee! Nice. You must land it in a target placed in front of you to score points, and during the second half of the game, you have to pop balloons with the disc. It's alright. Frisbee Golf is worse, though. I hate it. Not quite as much as normal golf, but I'll get to that later. You're given three different sizes of Frisbee to throw; the larger, the farther it goes. Well, they're on the same golf courses as normal golf. It's easier, but not by much. It's just not my favorite.
Score: 7

Basketball
Yo, anyone wanna shoot some hoops? Well, good luck. This is the second hardest sport in the game, the first being golf. You hold a single Wii Remote, and shoot it by releasing the B button after waving it towards the screen. For me, I tend to have the most luck actually aiming for the basket as if it were in front of me. To be honest, your success may depend on your sensor bar placement, though. 3-Point Contest is what I'm talking about, of course. You're given three spots to shoot from, and 1 rack to each spot. Each spot contains 4 normal, orange basketballs, and 1 double-point red-white-and-blue basketball. The controls are difficult to master, but once you play for a bit, it will get easier. Pickup Game is a 3-on-3 game, and it's very easy to get used to, even though you use only the Wii Remote. You pass by pressing either A or a D-Pad direction; it doesn't matter which direction you press. Slam dunks are difficult to do in this game, but very cool when pulled off.
Score: 7
Score: 8
Cycling
I can ride my bike, with no... Oh. I already did this in my preview. Anyway, Cycling is not very fun at all, and it doesn't feel realistic. You pedal your bike by waving the Wii Remote and Nunchuck back and forth, which makes me feel silly. It doesn't feel like riding a bike at all, and could easily be replaced with a running game; it would make a lot more sense that way.
Score: 6
Golf
Golf has to be the worst sport in the game. Period. The controls are more sensitive, which make for a much more frustrating experience. Sure, if you practice, you'll get good at it, but the though of playing this game sickens me. The game takes place on a special island way offset from the main island, and I can see why... The residents are afraid of this game. Though I do have to admit, this game's controls are pretty advanced, so you'll have to play it just right; trial-and error. Approach with caution; golf enthusiasts only.
Score: 5
Table Tennis
This is pretty much Nintendo's way of saying, "Hey! We wanted to include Tennis in this game, but we already brought over Golf and Bowling, so we should stop. Hey! Why not Table Tennis? It's Tennis, but on the Table! Ping pong!" Well, that's how I like to think it happened. This game controls nicely. If you turn your twist on a hit. Match mode is a very good multiplayer game; this is true, honest-to-goodness Wii MotionPlus 'Pong'. On the other hand, Return Challenge mode is pretty dull. You're given cans to hit, but not much else.
Score: 7.5
Bowling
Yes, this is the second game of two to be brought back from the original, with MotionPlus support. This game is easier to control, but at the same time, more difficult to get strikes. It's fun for a while, but then you get that usual feeling of boredom. There is a 100-Pin mode, and Spin Control Mode, but they get very boring after a while as well. But, while it lasts, it's very amusing to see your Mii wearing a Hawaiian shirt, and using Wii MotionPlus is very fun too. All-in-all, a very solid game.
Score: 7
Canoeing
Canoeing surprises me. It gives you the biggest workout of the game. You hold the Wii Remote as if it were an oar, the actual paddle facing down; with both hands. Then, you have to paddle. This becomes sort of fun, because when you do Free Roam mode, you can do as many circles as you please. There's even a secret challenge in Free Roam, but I won't spoil it.
Score: 8.5

Air Sports
Here we are... The last sport. Well, category, I must say; planes and skydiving aren't really the same sport, are they? Skydiving is exactly as I expected; very easy, yet, a nice way to test out your Wii MotionPlus accessory. But where this category really shines is it's plane modes. You have Dogfight, and Island Flyover. Dogfight is pretty much the same as Island Flyover, only two player; you hold the Wii Remote, top facing the TV, and the way you tilt it depends on which way the plane goes. You also get the chance to shoot off flares, cut off your engine, and shoot a gun (Gasp! In a Wii game?). While the first two may not seem all too practical, the gun comes in handy to shoot at a numbered balloon attached to the back of your opponent's plane. Island Flyover is very fun too; I've probably spent most of my time on this game. Why? There are 'I Orbs', containing info on practically everything on the island. It provides a nice backstory to the game, and collecting all of them is great fun. This has to be my second favorite game out of the bunch, first being Swordplay.
Score: 9
Well, there you have it. All of the sports, reviewed. Before I give you my final rating, I will tell you that the music is fantastic, and the graphics look smooth, nice, and some of the backgrounds look sort of real. I suggest you buy this game if you own a Wii; if not, then good luck waiting over a year for the next Wii Zelda.

EA Is Refusing To Comment On Dead Space 2 & 3
By: ghost writer
July 28th, 2009
5:46 pm

Perhaps Variety let the cat out of the bag yesterday when they speculated that EA is working on Dead Space 2 and 3.
Now EA is refusing to comment on said report.
An EA spokesman commented on this; “The only Dead Space game announced and in development at this time is Dead Space Extraction."
Apparently EA hinted at this past weekend's Comic Con that an announcement about a Dead Space sequel would not be far off.

THQ Expects Price Cut On Consoles This Year
By: ghost writer
July 28th, 2009
3:06 pm

THQ mastermind, Brian Farrell has said that he expects price cuts on two of the big three consoles later this year. Of course, he wouldn't elaborate on which two consoles are being speculated. Our guess would be Nintendo's Wii and Microsoft's Xbox 360.
Farrell also stated that when these price cuts are announced, it means we won't be seeing any new consoles for some time, stating “peripherals will be released to keep consoles fresh for the next 4-5 years.”
If THQ says it, then it must be true...well, not always, just 65% of the time they're right 100% all the time.

You might have already noticed that we have a brand new homepage design! I hope you guys enjoy it.
While the new homepage is still coded in WordPress, it is built with our proprietary forum content management system called CrowdReport. With htis syste, there is no separation between articles and threads. Any thread created by any member can be selected for the homepage with just a few clicks by an admin. All of the comments you see on the homepage will actually be live replies to the thread so the interaction is seamless across the entire site.
I have probably made it sound more complicated than it is, but if you give it a chance I am sure you will get it and hopefully enjoy it too! We are in the process of putting up thumbnails for all of the existing homepage articles so they don't look so boring- should be done by tomorrow.
Feel free to post your comments in this thread!

Did anyone watch this WWE pay per view earlier tonite?
I just got back from seeing it at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia and it was amazing. I was disappointed in how the triple threat match ended, but overall it was a great experience.
Any WWE fans here?
