Burning out on wow... will Conan help?
Well, after many weeks pounding on Sunwell, I am growing weary of the game. I've killed Illidan in Black Temple a number of times... and we've dropped Kalcegos in Sunwell. Brutalis is a bit rough though. In all, WoW is losing it's flavour. Maybe it is raiding 5 hours a night for 5 nights a week... I don't know.
I do have a pre-order for Conan... and I find myself looking forward to the game. Something new, something fresh. Gawd I hope it doesn't suck. Could it be a WoW killer? Could it be something that makes me cancel my WoW account once and for all? At the very least I'm hoping it will hold my attention until WotLK is released, if it can do that then maybe it will restore the eagerness to level four toons from 70 to 80. We shall see. |

Been doing a little reading and found that conan will not be the path i take. All points are taken from beta'ers, and mmorpg.com and personnal opinion. Beta yotube footage helped alot. Thanks for breaking the NDA for me guys!!!
Most computers bought withen the last 2 years will have problems and barley run at medium settings. 2008 gphix cards can barley handle it. Personnaly- i want a seemless world i miss the old class's i hate the animations lack's color besides "bloom effects" no information on open world pvp Funcoms customer service ain't that great dislike the combat system revamp fyi: AoC may be a better game but when it comes to being a "wowkiller". i think most would not want to puchase a leet leet rig to play it. World of warcraft took everything from previous mmo's and inproved it for casual audiances and then gave higher tiers of raiding to the hardcore player. Everything from trade skills to lvling and pvp are a lot less frustrating then the older fashioned rpgs. In which were a job to play and no fun. taking something that is an istablished ip and transforming it into a living breathing world where i can spend 30 min's and get somthing done before school is actually worth my $14.99 a month. |

You are talking pre-bc wow I think... because enough casuals whined and cried to Blizz that Blizzard revamped the PvP system so now it is really easy to play 10 games a week and still end up in gear that it takes end-game hard core raiders months to get. I've been farming Illidan for a couple months now, and have taken down Kalcegos in Sunwell and I have 1 piece of tier 6. Meanwhile, a guy I know who has done nothing but PvP for two months has a hell of a lot more "styled" gear than I. And he's not even trying. Now you have a badge vendor that sells gear that is in many ways better than some t5... There is little to no reason to end game raiding other than to see the encounters now. Thanks for breaking the pve game Blizz... much appreciated. Besides, you KNOW a lot of people are going to be playing Age of Conan for one reason and one reason only... ![]() this, of course, could mean that game play totally sucks since everyone will be too busy staring at their succubus rather than actually pvp'ing/doing something constructive >.< |

Two days of playing AoConan and I am impressed. Seriously.
The game does feel a bit unfinished, and the demands on my machine are pretty harsh (My P4 3.0 is the minimum required) but otherwise the game is light years beyond wow in terms of graphics and interaction. I like the combat system (combos etc...) and I really like the quest navigation. Frame rates are brutal, and it may force me to go shell out a grand or so to play in the fashion I'd like to, but it's all worth it if I'm having fun. At this point it does look like I'll be splitting my time between AoC and WoW. 4 nights AoC, 3 nights WoW. Who knows... this may be the game that lets me run my WoW subscriptions out! ![]() |

Sounds good, but i guess its a "you have to experiance first hand" kinda deal. Frame rate(tabla rasa ewww) turned me off when i had multiple pc's fighting on my screen.
WoW just seems easyer atm, and my computer will definatly handle warhammer. I am also waiting for a space mmo, so tierd of fantasy yet nothing really seems to appeal to me. I need direction and eve was too dry, and SOE killed SWG. So im trying to choose between: huxley fps mmo for xbox-star trek-stargate- 2 others that i cannot remember there name and the agency(a modern day/futuristic spy mmo).
