PS3 Rock Band - USB question

A friend of mine just got the PS3 and Rock Band. She said that there are only two USB ports on the PS3 so she couldn't hook up all three instruments. Is this true? How are you supposed to play with all three? I know the Xbox comes with a 4-port USB hub, so why doesn't the PS3 version? I think she has the 40GB PS3.

Thanks!

I know this is an old thread but...

If you get the wireless guitar do you still need 3 usb ports?

I have the 40gb PS3 and have rock band special edition ordered. Will I still need to get a usb hub? if so will any usb hub do?

the guitars have a plug that goes into the usb port. so yes, you would need the hub
