Green light means switched on

Red light means power off (full standby)

Yellow light means connected to Wiiconnect24. All this means is it is still in standby but accepts information automatically from the net. Updates, messages etc are all downloaded without any need for you to be there.

The Blue flashing is the Wii accepting and downloading information. Mine went crazy for the first day or two but it then calms down and hardly ever flashes.

Go to the main settings menu, think Page two!? There you will see a setting called something like Wiiconnect. Within that menu, you can disable Wiiconnect and also either turn the brightness down or off for the flashing blue light.

Also when powering down, hold the Power button on the Wii (not sure if it works on the remote though) and it will power down to an old school standby with no connection to the internet.
