Ya, I think that Golden Sun definitely hasn't been forgotten. Something mentioned by Nintendo (I forget who exactly) is that they have been wanting to make a third for a long time, they just haven't gotten around to it. One thing about GS on the Wii that would be awesome though is using your psyenergy, not quite in battle but in the open world, where you solve puzzles by use of the wii-mote and nunchaku.

It sure has, what I do expect though is that if they decide to have a new cast, also allow the use or apperance of some of the old characters. It would be great to be able to use certain attacks inside and outside the battle too! It doesn't matter wheteher they put the game on the DS or the Wii. As long as you are able to use the stylus(DS) or motion censor(Wii) for the game. Hopefully it is longer, it was a very addicting game and even though the game wasn't as short as others, it should be longer... I was very dissapointed on thaat.
