I don't know man. It seems to me like the witch doctor was put in to replace both the necro and the druid. It has a lot of necro properties. Disease (similar to poison), mind control (fear, confuse), and undead (zombie wall) spells are all similar to necromancer skills. If anything the druid has more of a place in D3 than the necro only because the witch doctor can't shapeshift as far as we know. The witch doctor also shares some elemental and summoning properties of the druid so I think the druid and necro are both done for.
