Notice: Clan Recruiting Rules and Guidelines
It's come the time for some guidelines for Clan Recruiting, because it's one of the most cluttered areas on the entire forum and...well, to be frank, most of the clutter is unnecessary.
All clan threads have been locked. After they've read these rules, Clan Leaders can PM to tell me they understand, and I'll either a) Unlock their thread, or b) They can make a new one (after I respond) if they so choose.
THIS FORUM HAS NOW BEEN REOPENED ON A TRIAL BASIS!
You must have 500 posts to start or recruit for your clan.
You must have 100 posts to post in a recruitment thread.
No bumping old clan threads! Old threads will be locked.
Rokrin's rules still apply as well:
In no particular order:
-) Once your clan has a set number of members (Popular games needing around 7-8, less-than-popular games needing around 5-6), you may PM me with a request for it to be stickied. Then I'll go and take a look at the thread, and sticky it if it should be stickied. Meaning it meets the requirements for members, isn't breaking rules, etc.
-) Clan Recruiting says "Recruiting", and this can be stressed even more with the implementation of Social Groups on Wiispace. Threads in Clan Recruiting are for...well, recruiting. They aren't like a mini-chatbox for your clan. What I'd suggest doing is making a Social Group on Wiispace for your clan, linking to the social group in your main thread, and using the thread in CR as a means of attracting members to the social group. From there, use your "wall" in the social group to hold mini discussions and the like. Use the CR thread for clan announcements (via editing), or for challenges (if you're in a different clan and want to challenge a clan).
-) Competition is good to a point. It has toned down now, but there was a time when people became extremely competitive to the point where insults were being tossed around all over the place and people had to actually be warned down off of it. Friendly competition is great, but keep it friendly. Not because you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, but because quite honestly nobody was someone to pour vinegar all over their toast.
-) If you see that we have 200 Brawl Clans, seriously consider if there's really a need to make the 201st. Clan diversity is good and all but when there's 200+ clans running around for the same game that have member counts of 2 or 3 people, it gets really redundant.
-) Your clan can have sub-divisions for different games; if you want your clan to be multi-game, this is perfectly acceptable. However, you don't need a thread/social group for each offshoot. You can use underline, bold, coloring, etc. to make headers in your main clan thread and list the members of the offshoots in there.
This is in addition to the regular forum rules. In general, just use common sense.
