Shigosha is on a distinguished road
Friends: (2)
I've played them all if not just briefly at one point or another. I don't count XI or X:2 as a legitimate FF though, 11 is nothing at all like traditional FF, fun and all but not an FF. 10:2 is a blast but it plays more like Mystic Quest meets FF5.

FF on the NES is awesome if you don't mind playing slower old fashioned games. I miss how in newer games they removed the glitch where you can run into more advanced enemies to spam your levels early on by walking up and down the far right coast near Corneria.

I've only ever beat 4, 6, 7, 10 come to think of it... hmmm.

*SOME SPOILERS BELLOW IF YOU'VE NEVER PLAYED THEM BEFORE*

1: is fun, but slow and VERY hard.

2: *no fair reference*

3: Only played the DS version and didn't get far.

4: Retro RPG gold. Awesome story, fun game play and cool characters with awesome secrets. Re-envisioned FF4 Advanced and the new DS edition are amazing too. PSX Chronicles edition was weak.

5: Never played far into it but you can see the experimenting between 4 and 6 going on. Ferris is even the base for the sprite for Umaru in 6 if you place them side by side. The CLASS system was awesome, and was greatly improved and drawn from in FF10:2.

6: One of the greatest RPG's of all time and in my opinion the best FF (for overall Gameplay) in the series. The biggest cast of playable characters in the series or in any RPG for that matter, FF6 also sported an awesome story, amazing battles, incredible music and KEFKA, the greatest FF Villain of all time.

7: One of the greatest RPG's of all time and just a great game in general. Where the grainy visuals, limited battle animations and very long walks would take away from any modern RPG today, it being the first real 3D RPG not to mention FF game and also being Holy Grail and key to Sony's success in the industry give it a charm that allows one to over look those minor flaws. With the minor flaws overlooked, the music is phenomenal and it is without a doubt the best Story of all the FF games. Sepheroth would be the greatest villain of the FF series except where KEKFA stole the power of God's and blew up the Earth to become the God of Chaos simply because he felt like it, Sepheroth was ultimately just the worlds angriest Mama's boy.

8: The biggest turd of the series, where the individual characters have their charms, the story it self is broken... to be nice. The driving plot changes drastically at random intervals, usually just when you've stopped laughing at the last reason they claimed to doing all this for. The summons and combat is entertaining and some of the visuals are impressive, but the plot ends up becoming to much for me and at the same point every time I turn the game off laughing and never get back to it: The point where Squall is shot to the moon from a revolver while rest of the team "heroically" destroy the "dreaded" Zippo Lighter, er, I mean Ludicrous Pandora by... walking 10 feet through it... no fight... no creepy core... just a brief jaunt in and out and KABOOOOOM... guess they didn't wipe their feet. Oh yeah, and why was Robin Williams running SEED?

9: This game is actually pretty good. A little stale of the gun but once you get going it's a gem. It fuses classic FF heart with than modern FF energy and visuals. I haven't beaten this game yet but I intend to do so soon. My biggest qualm with this game is the overly difficult Blue Magic system. 8 and 9 were just experiments as Square/Enix perfected it's wet dream project: 10 Project.

10: A great game despite its few minor flaws such as the VERY long lasting final boss fight that has no sense of direness or urgency since you're, you know... immortal... yawn. Blitzball is hit or miss, you either love it or wish a plague on its house. But the story is so gripping and sad, Tidus never existed, how sad and awesome is that.

12: This game is so much fun although they dropped the ball of the character system. "We'll give you six characters that, though visually different, will know EXACTLY the same moves." But tactically that works out alright. I was doing well but quit after spending 5 hours fighting the final mark only to, with only 1/1000 of it's bar left, after a failed attempt to launch a final Quickening Set I barely managed to pull off to cure, I just finished my last cure as he went out of my taregt range for less than 2 second and what would you know... FULLY CURED!!!! So I quit... for now.

Wow... that post was longer than I thought it would be. Long story short; FF one on NES ROCKS.
