Time Magazine Helps Nintendo Wii to Win Console Wars

Many people are currently talking about how President George Bush was not listed on Time Magazine's, "List of the Top 100 Most Influential People." Strangely enough, the video game industry is buzzing because of the fact that one of their heroes made the list.

Shigeru Miyamoto is considered to be one of the pioneers of the gaming industry, being one of the minds that brought us Nintendo, Mario, Link, and other great gaming mainstays. He comes in at number 92 on the infamous list.

According to Time Magazine, Miyamoto was listed because, "By making video gaming accessible and fun for people like my grandma, Shigeru Miyamoto, 54, head of the Wii design team, has opened the world I live in every day to people who never even wanted to visit it before."

Miyamoto was the mastermind behind both the Nintendo DS, and the Nintendo Wii. Both of these have revolutionized the gaming industry. His genius has brought more to gaming, and back to gaming.

When Miyamoto first announced the Nintendo Wii, many believed that it would not be a very successful console. Once he announced that classic Nintendo games would be available for download for the system, many in the industry took note.

Miyamoto was not only interested in making the Nintendo Wii a successful addition to gaming, but he wanted to win the current Console Wars. With his ideas for marketing the system through creative adds (Wii would like to play), the Nintendo Wii has amazed everyone.

Some industry insiders, such as G4 TV, are coming forth with saying that the Nintendo Wii is currently winning the Console Wars. They point to Miyamoto's genius a being the factor that has caused the Nintendo Wii to outsell its competition in recent months.

It was Miyamoto's idea to create the Nintendo Wii's nunchucka style controller, and to have it be a motion-detectable controller. It was his choice to have the old library downloadable to the system. These two features are what many are finding the most interesting about the system.

Miyamoto is also credited as being the one who pushed for prices to be lower for the Nintendo Wii. As Sony and Microsoft are currently going through further motions to bring the price of the PS3 and X-Box 360 down to a more affordable level, Nintendo has been steady at a lower price.

Miyamoto once said that, "Ingenuity is the key to any industry. One must think about what is wanted before it is ever asked for. One must realize that a creative mind can create, market, and sell anything."

The inclusion of Miyamoto on the, "Most Influential List," will guarantee more exposure for the Nintendo Wii. This will translate into further sales of the ingenious system.
