A limit to font size sounds like a good idea. Maybe one more for the length of someone's sig. You know, a reasonable length, nothing excessive.

and taking out a bunch of those hard returns would make the signature, in general, look smaller (which would be nice). the point is, right now, your signature takes up more space on this thread than all of the actual posts combined...
