I miss my girlfriend. Today is our 5-year anniversary. Gosh! It's also the first anniversary we haven't been around each other. She called me around 7:00 this morning (9:00 for her; I don't mind), being all giggly over the phone, telling me about everything under the sun in her world. 'Twas very cute; it's a nice feeling, knowing that someone can prove that they really appreciate you rather than just say it.

Yesterday was another writers' workshop and another writers' forum. Nothing particularly noteworthy, but it was entertaining enough. I was, however, swimming later on. I dove down and just sort of played explorer for a while (no jokes!). In addition to finding a bandaid and a penny, I actually found something of relative worth: a plain, gray and black ring. Unfortunately, it's too small for my fingers, but it's pretty nice for a plain old ring. So I'm going to look for the ring's owner later today.

After that, I ordered and ate a meal at...Carl Jr.'s (otherwise known as Hardees?). I don't eat a lot of fast food normally, but for fast food it was decent, like Sonic (do want) and Wendy's (do not want) put together =/

Tonight we're having dinner with a guest speaker in the form of Bruce Jenkins, a sports columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle. From what the schedule says, he's going to talk about general writing, making it in the newspaper business, what it takes to get "noticed", and some other things regarding that area.
