Rant of the Day

2 years ago, I was in a car wreck the permanently damaged my lower spine at t-spine 9 and 10. I live in pain 24/7. I can no longer do 80% of the stuff I used to do, such as wrestle (which used to be my dream). I can't lift anything over 40 pounds, it risks completely destroying my back. I can't do yard work, I can barely pick up my son (sometimes I can't), there is no comfortable position for me to sit or sleep (I have to fit a position that causes the least amount of pain), and sometimes I can't even get up in the morning without my back slapping me down. Many more things I will not go into detail with here.
Now, I am quiet about 90% of the pain I'm in, and why? Because, if I say anything, all of a sudden people are in more pain than me and tell me to suck it up. So, while doing yard work today for my grandma (who is actually more capable than me right now), my back decided it couldn't do any more and I left. Before leaving, however, she rants at how "oh, my back hurts too, blahblahblah get over it blahblahblah"..... I'm sorry to say, I've had my body almost 22 years, I know it's limits and I know when to stop doing something that is causing me more pain than normal.
Moral of this rant: LEAVE ME THE EFF ALONE ABOUT MY BACK, YOU'RE LUCKY I'M STILL NICE ENOUGH TO OFFER HELP THROUGH MY PAIN

Sucks to hear that man. Makes me feel lucky I can do some of those things you mentioned. Unfortunate that people are like that.

I kinda know what you mean. Whenever I get even the slightest cold, I usually get really bad chest congestion. I've had this most of my life. So at this point, whenever I get this way, most people don't really care, and they just expect me to do stuff without taking long breaks to just, you know, breathe. But you have it far worse, I think, since I do eventually get better, and you live with yours 24/7.

I have a friend with a knee problem like that, he was about to rank up to black belt in taekwondo too. Now he's applying for a green card so he can get medical marijuana for the pain.

Damn dude... I have sacralization of my L5 lumbar, basically it didnt form properly, and it causes strange never problems. I have had spells where I could barley walk across a room, and have some sort of pain every day.... From what you are saying though, you are having a much harder time than I have ever had, and I sympathize with you, as I get the same sort of treatment from time to time.
