Hii-Yaa!
I recently joined a Karate class.
While I am currently only a white belt, the class had been a lot of fun, but theres some more to it. Instead of teaching just Karate, an alternate program has been started for the summer to make things more interesting (some people decide not to come over the summer, and then quit altogether, so the teacher is doing a more interesting program to keep people enthused about karate) . Rather than the typical repetitive thing, the class is learning new moves every day and yesterday we even did board breaking. Some of the moves we have learned aren't even Karate. There has been a little Judo, Jujitsu, and even Chun Kuk Do. Thats right, the martial art started by Chuck Norris himself.
But it doesn't end there. When I inquired more, I found out that the sense/teacher goes to an annual karate convention at which they meet Chuck Norris. In fact, she got back from it just last week. Turns out one of the students that went earned the Chuck Norris Cup. So I asked if that meant the teacher had met Chuck Norris.
Well turns out my assumption was wrong. The teacher had not just met Chuck Norris, but is a personal friend of Chuck Norris, as indicated of 3 different pictures of the 2 of them standing arms-over-shoulders on the wall.
Thats right, I'm being trained by a person that was trained by Chuck Norris. Chuck Freaking Norris!
Annoying fan-boyism aside, the class has been tons of fun. I'm sorry I didn't start this sooner. Pics pending.
UPDATE: I broke 2 boards yesterday. One with a thrusting front kick and the other with a palm heel. It was good fun. We also did a bit of contact kick practice with the black-belts. They held up these big protective cushions and we got to kick them. It was good fun. After the front kicks and side kicks, we even got to line up for Flying Side Kicks, which are the most awesome kind of kicks ever.

I live in Ridgeland, SC. I'm pretty sure its near the Georgia border. Now, when I said that "The person is friends with Chuck Norris" I do not mean, "THEY ARE THE BESTEST BUDS EVARS LIKE YOU CANNOT SEPERATE THESE TWO", but what I mean is that they definitely seem to know each other and that one of the other students said that they are pals.
And no, I don't know how to push someone's nose into their brain. I've been to three lessons. I'm a White Belt. |

Karate, you say?
I'm a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Took me 7 years. That being said, BEWARE SHORT FAT BLACK CHICKS AT KARATE TOURNAMENTS!! They can kick higher than they look, trust me. |

Tch... as cool as martial arts seem, I think they're a little impractical. Sure you can fight off someone if held at knife-point, but that's it. I personally learned how to master the quick-draw because you can't block bullets.
