Books and games
Today I was really bored and started thinking.
Keep in mind this blogging is just my opinions and thoughts, not what I think is fact.
My two favorite things to do are read and play video games. I haven't really said much about books on this forum because it's a Wii forum but I think I'll tell you now.
Always, always, I carry a book with me. The only time you won't see me with a book is at a movie or the mall, or another place where I won't be able to read at all.
I love how an author can absolutely transport your mind to a world completely different from our own, catching your interest so much that you want to keep reading. Some authors have this power more than others. For example, Stephenie Meyer, who is now one of my favorite authors, now has me completely and utterly obsessed with her books. The Twilight series not only has an awesome story, but they are written so well that I can read passages over and over again and never get tired of it.
In some ways, video games do the same thing for me. They have the ability to tell amazing stories. Games also get you completely caught up in them, sometimes more than books. We've all seen how much hype comes up around that next game in a series, or a long awaited game.
But video games are also different from books. Video games make you get lost in them by visually presenting you with a goal that you want to accomplish. Final Fantasy - you need to defeat the bad guy and get to the end of the story. Mario Kart - you need to beat everyone else to finish the race in first. Stories are not like that. They make you want to get to the end, but in a much more subtle way.
My passion for reading dates back all the way to first grade, when my school librarian gave me a challenge - to read the first Harry Potter book. I fell in love with it and to this day Harry Potter is my favorite book series.
But my passion for gaming is more recent.
I'll tell you more about it tomorrow.
Thanks for bearing with me throught that whole blog, I know it was pretty long and I think most of my posts will be relatively long. If you enjoyed reading that, check back tomorrow for more.

Shigeru Miyamoto: Nintendo Game Designer was another book i actualy enjoyed readin, its really short (it was written to be read by a 10-12 year old) but i liked it, and if ure a huge Miyamoto fan like me u will prolly like it. it tlaks about hsi childhood and how he became inspired to make the games hes made. btw u caryign a book all the time reminds me of me carying my ds all the time. never leave the house wihtout the ds and cell phone :D :Miyamoto: |

I love books too. They are a portal to another world, full of fantasy and adventure. But, i do hate when books become games.

I like to read too. The more you read about various subjects the more people you will be able to hold conversations with and know what they are talking about.
