Review: Advance Wars Dual Strike

This game brings to the DS a new strategic approach on war. The game plays out from bird's eye view, and is turned based, giving you plenty of time to think.

Presentation: The graphics in the game are fair enough for the what the DS can give out. The sprites and animation are used well, and the map creation feature is well done. Being able to touch the screen to order your units where you want them is an excellent feature that makes you feel like you truly are in charge of your own army.

Sound: With each character in the game having their own personal leitmotif, this game offers a wide variety of sound and doesn't disappoint

Gameplay: If you're easily frustrated playing video games, this is not the game for you. This game requires thinking, so for anyone that just likes to go in a game and blow everything up, prepare to be very disappointed. The amount of thought going into each mission is intense, you may even find yourself so engulfed with the storyline you become attached to the characters.

Multiplayer: Providing up to 4 players for multiplayer fun, you can play with friends to even test how smart they truly are. The multiplayer in this game works great, providing that if they take as long as you to make each turn go by, prepare for a long game.

Replayability: AWDS provides many modes for playing. There's Campaign, War Room, Versus, Survival, and Combat mode which all provide different playing experiences. With 27 different Commanding Officers to pick from each time you start a mission, the missions can play out in nearly infinite different ways. There are also lots of unlockables to try and make you complete this game 100%.

Overall, this must get game gets a 9.0 out of 10
