Lack to Play DVD's

Was anyone else a little upset that you could not do this on the gamecube?
I will admit that I was because I really wanted to be able to watch my DVDs without having to get a DVD player.

I was mad to because when i want to watch DVDs I have to go and unplug my GameCube and hook up my DVD player it is a bit of a hassel to do.

It was not that big of a deal for me becasue I have my PS2 hooked up to the same TV so if I want to watch a DVD I just use that.

I'm not mad about GameCube not being able to play DVDs, I'm mad about it not being able to hold DVD games. I think the mini disc was a bad idea.

Well, the games for the GameCube turned out to be really good. If the mini discs were so bad, then how come we were able to fit good games like Metroid Prime 1 and 2, and Super Smash Bros Melee onto it?

This is probably the most dissapointing feature of this system. Since all the other systems at the time were able to play dvds. Which was probably why I bought this one as my last system at the time.

This is not disappointing for me at all. I never really used any of my systems to play dvds, I used a DVD player, so it didn't matter to me.

That had to so a lot with why the system did bad to because many people went with PS2 because it played DVDs. I did not really mind that it could not play them.

The major flaw this system is this. I bought it anyway but I bought my xbox at the same time aswell.

The lack of DVDs was a godsend, the PS2 DVD player failed a lot and the XBOX had its limitations. You can by DVD players for under £20 and scart leads/scart boxes(so you can plug more into one Scart socket) for another £15. Why do you think the upcoming PS3 is so expensive--> Its BlueRay drive. Why is the Wii much cheaper because it is nothing more that a very good console. Nintendos consoles have always been WYSIWYG and that is the way they should keep them.
