I don't think that the GC was the worst system of Nintendo's, but then again, I'm not sure which system was the worst.

Virtual Boy was probably to worst. I heard a rumour that the guy who made it committed suicide because it was such a monumental failure, but I've always doubted the validity of that rumour.

GameCube is a good little console, it's problem was it didn't really have any notoriety for what it's strength was: Sony was the RPG and Fighting game king, Microsoft was all for the FPS and Sports/Racing nuts. GCN had some great games for many genres but by the same coin didn't jump out in any categories either.

Those that did stick firmest were franchise names; like Smash bros, Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, ports; like Skies of Arcadia, PSO and RE and 3rd Party titles like Tiger Woods, Need for Speed Underground and Tony Hawk.

I personally love the feel of the GCN controller, best console for Tony Hawk and SSX Tricky hands down. Although it may not scream and shout "you need me to have this game that makes you cool" like Halo or Final Fantasy X but in terms of games with replay value GCN is right up there which is probably Nintendo's strongest suit: balanced quality and quantity instead of quantity with a few quality titles.

I really did like the Gamecube, but the sales just werent up to par with all the previous nintendo systems. I loved the need for speed games though, that was all I pretty much played on it.

At least these games kept the system going instead of allowing it to instantly crash and burn...

there was nothing really wrong with g-cube,just the support it acquired was lacking. Now sadly the game cube is getting a bad history. Is it not nintendo's worst system at all IMO.

The virtual boy was practically made to be nintendo's worst system lol

oh yeah! I forgot about the virtual boy. That thing was horrible, but the Gamecube does have a bad reputation.
