Well, it might be, interms of Nintendo doing their own things yet again. Making a console that only plays games in an age where people want DVD playback and automated sandwhich makers and the like. (Even though the Wii is doing nice)
But in terms of Fun, it had the best, IMO, multiplayer game out, which still seems to be selling, Super Smash Bros Melee. Not to mention it was easy to get and still cheaper than the other two systems. So I personally don't think the Gamecube was the worst system Nintendo made, but it just had some untapped potential is all.

Heres my 2 cents...
If you're counting ALL Nintendo systems....then by far the virtual boy was the worst. If you're counting just main consoles....then yes, the gamecube was the worst. Having said that....I still enjoyed it ALOT and the only thing that makes me say it was worse than N64 is the fact that it had no online. Shame on Nintendo for that. Otherwise, N64 would be the worst (although MarioKart64 will always hold a special place in my heart) And if the Gamecube is the worst Nintendo can come up with, then I think that says ALOT about them.....because the system itself really wasnt all that bad in the first place.

...and the ds in my opinion i have only played the GC once for like 20 mins on mario soccer and i loved every second of it! i was about to put it on my wish list but just then... the wii appeared with GC game compatability and alot more. i dont hate the gamecube, i love it, but if i had to choose the worst ninty console thats what it would be simply because it didnt have online multiplayer. but in my mind ALL nintys products are all on the same level ninty rocks! - oh and that timeline was hilarious... and so true
