Nintendo: Wavebird no longer shipping to stores

Via Joystiq:

If it were any other time the death of the sublime wireless Wavebird controller designed for Nintendo's Gamecube would have gone by with a tear and some good memories, but with Smash Bros. Brawl just around the corner it feels more like bad timing. A Nintendo customer service representative told GoNintendo that there aren't plans to restock Wavebird controllers in stores again; however, regular wired Gamecube controllers will continue to be available.

I never liked using wireless controllers. They eat too many batteries. Kinda like the wii currently does.

I just used the old fashion controllers. I love my microcon controler.

I've never had a wireless control before. But I saw some on sale from MadCatz, and if I change my mind, I'll get one.
Still, I'll try to play SSBB with a Wii Classic Control if I have to.

NO! NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER buy a madcatz controller. They are stinking piles of crap predestined to break after 10 minutes of play and then be cast down to the lowest pits of video game HELL where they belong!

And at some stores they're non refundable...

They will just say that any problem with the controller is the result of extended use.

Well I saw some of the original ones and had a big piece of junk for the battery and sensor. I never liked those. The Madcatz one looked normal. And this "Wavebird" sounds okay, if only I knew about it.
