halo 3 coop campaign lets do it

so the campaign, story for Halo 3 is co-op? so someone from xbox live can join you and you both can play the campaign together? Is there a way to pick someone randomly from xbl?

If someone wants to join me on the campaign, i would be happy to have you.

I've never done co-op before, its a fresh rush.

I have cod4, halo3, mass effect, now im working on some sports title, but i can't decide madden o8 for 40, or virtua tennis for 17.99, or final night round 3 for 30.

Like i beat the game in normal. But im cool with going back, i still need skulls and getting some achievements wouldn't be bad either. Oh and beating the game in heroic , especially legendary for the complete ending.
