Mario Kart League

Hey guys,

Does anyone have any interest in meeting at the same time each week for 12 weeks to compete in Mario Kart? (kinda like a bowling league)

Here Are the current Sign Ups:
For anyone:
9/8 Beginner League Sign Ups (Wiiwheel - automatics)
For VIPs
MK Wii Golden Wheel Tournament 2000 WiiPoints (VIP Only)
Here's what I'm thinking:

We start sometime early next month meeting at the same time lets say 8:00 EST on Tuesday nights, race 16 races and award points for the week. Each week you earn a set amount of points based on your performance and at the end of 12 weeks we will have the final standings. Here's a preliminary spread sheet example. Anyone intrested? I'd love to have 12 people participate in it. Let me know if your in and post your FC so I can add it to the sheet.

i dont know if ill join this is a big thing and theres many things that can mess it up so ill wait and see if others join then ill make my choice

Like what? I would like to know what areas can be addressed before we start. All suggestions are welcome. Alot of you might wonder "What happens if I miss a week?" We have two options,

we can give absent players something like 12 points for the week up to two times

or we can "drop" the 2 lowest scores for each person for the season. This way someone who was absent twice will not get penalized, however any absence over 2 would be a 0 for the week. Also, this encourages everyone to play each week b/c if you play every week you will probably benefit from dropping your two lowest scores.

well the first thing that came to mind was the group round of the ssbb tourny where MANY poeple didnt show up thats why i said ill wait and see who is it that joins because i dont want to join a "league" where everyone is inactive

Yeah, this is limited to only 12 active players, not everyone.

If we really want to make things intresting we could have league dues of let's say $10 and give out winnings at the end of the season as follows:
1st $50
2nd $30
3rd $20
4th $15
5th $5

But this could be against Wiispace policy.

Nah, I think I was just saying that would keep people from signing up and then not showing up. Let's just see if we can get 12 dedicated racers that will show up without money involved. So far I dont really have a definate yes from anyone. If you want to be in just let me know. If it takes longer to get 12 people than the starting date then we'll just move it back.
