It is lag guys... sorry.

On the other guys machine he didn't fall off rainbow road - he got the shell. But it takes time to send that information to your machine. Your machine didn't receive that information so just had him keep going straight and fall off the road (after all, your machine doesn't know what happened, it just has to assume he's still going the same direction).

Suddenly, your machine gets the update from his machine, and it will update your game showing him on the road ahead of you with the item.

Lag.

Easiest solution? Update your internet connection to a faster speed (although, it won't help if the guy on the other end has a horrible internet connection).

Yeah, it's lag....at least, the disappearing or falling over the edge and suddenly reappearing in front of you. Looks like cheating of course, but it's not. Now, there are definitely some times I've seen stuff that makes me think "cheater" *L*

Ya i was playing in warios gold mine and the player infront of me falles of the edge and gets back up in like 2 seconds.

To be honest i have not experienced this myself i do no see how someone can cheat. I rekon its just lag like that bloke said before =)

yeah lag explains that falling off the edge stuff, but what about record times for tracks being 1/2 second long? 3 laps in .556 seconds? i don't think so.

does anyone know how this happens?

um thats from a bug in the game. on time trials if you wait long enough the time resets. nintendo tries to delete there score but people keep doing it

There were a ton of cheaters in MK DS. I mean one time I couldn't even finish a game because some guy had unlimited Blue Shells. They really ruin the game on stuff like this. I mean I couldn't even move a foot because I kept getting hit by them.

if its lag u got 2 learn 2 deal with it and b prepared if it looks like they r about 2 fall and u no they r good in the game hold a red shell if they appear in front of u "bam" blast them and past them

Hopefully that comment wasn't toward my reply because I know it wasn't lag. They have action replay for the DS that gives cheats like that.
