Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time
I know this game has been out for a while, but it's new to me, and maybe someone who has just recieved/bought a DS will find it usefull.
The basic plot of the game is that the lovely Princess Peach has used a time machine, created by Professor E. Gadd. However, upon returning, the machine is greatly damaged and contains an alien, but no Peach. The machine has also torn holes in space-time. Mario and Luigi use these holes to unite with thier infant counter-parts and find the pieces of the Colbat Star to fix the time machine, and rescue the Princess. However, they are being stopped by not only Baby Bowser, but the alien Shroobs.
The gameplay is for the most part great, and simaler to the Prequel on the GBA, where each character has thier own button. This works well in combat, but can sometimes be awkward while moving. The second screen serves as a map, which is actually very usefull, but the lack of touch-screen use is disapointing.
The graphics are for the most part, identicle to the GBA counterpart, but perhaps a little upgraded, but are nowhere near what they could have been. Mario and Luigi are very cartoonish, as is the entire game.
The presentation is the best part of the game. Witty writting, great humor (which is uaually underapprecitated), and great sound (Mario and Luigi talk funny Italian gibberish to each other) really are the frosting on the cake for this one.
I reccomend this game to anyone who owns a DS.
9.0-Amazing
