Nintendogs - Any version

Okay, this is game is REALLY old, and you'll probably only find used ones in the game store, but it doesn't really matter. So let's get on to the review. By the way, each individual score from all the aspects are not averaged out to make the final score, nor do they heavily influence the final score.

Gameplay For the most part, it's kind of basic. It's fun to shower your dog, pet it afterwards, and enter competitions, but what you can do in the game is limited. You can give your dog commands through the microphone, which is kind of cool, but the voice recognition isn't that great, and most of the time you'll just get a questioning look from your dog if you don't say it correctly.

Score : 7.5/10

Graphics Surprisingly impressive considering the DS and its graphical abilities. The game conjures up nice-to-look at environments, and that dogs aren't as blocky as you'd think. The game is probably one of the best looking on the DS.

Score : 9.5/10

Lasting Appeal (Value)

The lasting appeal actually isn't that big. Taking care of a virtual dog is pretty cool, but you're better off learning responsibility taking care of a real dog, because your Nintendog doesn't die if you don't feed it. The game WILL entertain you for a while, but you won't come back for more after that.

Score : 7/10

Sound/Music

The music is actually pretty good, especially in the way they execute it. The makers (which is Miyamoto right?) place a nice little upbeat tune, but they don't force it on you. So it's unlikely for the tune to get rotten for a long time. As far as the sound, every sound seems to be in-sync with the action its describing, and the dog's barks are realistic.

Score : 9/10

Last Comments and Final Score

For the most part, the game is entertaining and competitions will earn you lots of money. The graphics are nice, and you will begin to like your dogs and vice versa. Although if the price for this game is high, and will deal fatal blows to your wallet, you're better off finding another game if you can't find a used Nintendogs.

Final Score : 8/10
