Seldom if ever do I take the time to write a review for a commercial product, so please bear with me. The reason I am writing this review for the FriiBoard is that even though I find it to be one of the more amazing Wii accessories, hardly anyone, including local game store sales staff, has heard of it. So, long story short, I have taken it upon myself to get the word out about the FriiBoard.

First of all, I will briefly describe what the FriiBoard is and how it works. The FriiBoard is a heavy duty plastic accessory that snaps in to place on the bottom of a Wii Balance Board. Installation is extremely simple and would take the average three year old 30 seconds to complete. Mine did it in 15, but then again she is very gifted ( like her mom, of course). Once attached, the FriiBoard literally sets the Balance Board "free". The bottom of the FriiBoard is curved, so pressure on either side of the Balance Board causes the whole set up to rock back and forth. The action is amazingly realistic when coupled with games like Wii Ski and Shaun White's Snowboard games. Swiit Game Gear Gear, the creator of the FriiBoard, clearly had the snowboard, ski, and skateboard markets in mind when they designed it. And, that is how it should be. Unfortunately Swiit Game Gear seems to have overlooked the fact that the FriiBoard is equally amazing when coupled with other Wii games ranging from cheerleading to yoga.

In my opinion, if you own a Wii Balance Board, you should also have a Friiboard. Whether you are using your Balance Board for yoga, or snowboarding the Friiboard will take your enjoyment to the next level. I must admit that I was a bit skeptical before actually trying the Friiboard, but oh my, it is truly awesome. With the FriiBoard you can actually feel the ski slope under your feet. And for yoga fans, the effect is really amazing. In fact, my wife has stopped going to her yoga class, as she is getting a much better experience with Wii Yoga and the FriiBoard. Other Wii fitness games that are enhanced with the FriiBoard include; Don King: Boxing, Jillian Michaels' Fitness Ultimatum 2009, EA Sports Active, Golds Gym Cardio Workout and of course, Wii Fit.

And there are a lot of other types of Wii games that really "rock" with the FriiBoard. Games such as All Star Cheer Squad, Go Play Circus Star, Vertigo, Skate City Heroes, Wii Music and Raving Rabbids TV Party play like brand new games when used with a FriiBoard. One of my favorite Wii games is Equilibrio. Remember the low tech hand held puzzle game that required you to move a small steel ball through a maze by tilting the game board? Well, Equilibrio on a FriiBoard is like that except 100 times more exciting as your heart races, and you hold your breath while trying to negotiate the maze by balancing the board with your feet.

The FriiBoard is great for Kids and Adults alike. If you can use the Balance Board, you can use the Friiboard. The FriiBoard literally puts "life" into the Wii and and makes all games that use the Balance Board feel much more real. My hope is that the word will start to get out about this great invention and that more games will be created to take advantage of it's great features. There are signs that this is already happening as I have noticed that FriiBoards are becoming available on places like eBay. So, if you own a Balance Board, seriously consider getting a FriiBoard, I guarantee you will not be sorry.
