Stop the presses: this will make the front page of every newspaper..... "Adult ignores friends, wife, family to play phenomenal RPG game". That would be my obituary if I had died while playing this game

First off, let me say this game gets a 9.75 from me. I'll explain why not a perfect 10, but first, down to business.....

Story: Idealistic, fresh, maybe not original, but nevertheless and awesome storyline. In a nutshell, a weirdo named Nene, who just loves to hear the pain and suffering of everyone else because they have no magic, decides to use "regular" people as experiments. I'll give no more from that storyline, as to not spoil it.

Graphics: Absolutely amazing. The environment is well-detailed, the character models are superb, and the monsters are (slightly) original and detailed. There were a few minor graphical glitches, but what game doesn't have them?

Sound: I admit, some RPG (including this game) music is slightly boring and too repetitive, so I had my own music playing. But during boss fights, I did enjoy the music. Other than that, the sound effects weren't annoying and the voice acting was a great feat.

Overall: I highly recommend this game to any XBox 360 owner, even if they don't enjoy RPG games. This one may just get you started The replay value is Moderate, but thanks to a FREE download from XBL, you can start a game over with all your items, so that shoots the replay value to Very High for me. And for 400 MS points, you can also download a special Shuffle Dungeon, which the layout changes every time you enter.... this dungeon gives you extra bosses and monsters to beat, as well as new items. The boss battles are challenging....... but even the last boss is almost nothing compared to the "Super Bosses" at the end of the game. One feature of note: the Monster Fights, which is simply this: You can ring in 2 monsters that either hate each other, or one likes to eat the other, and they'll fight it out amongst themselves while you get some shots in too. Makes some fights easier, but not too easy.

The only few problems I had was that some of the Achievements were excruciatingly hard to get..... such as Complete monster record, Complete item list, and Max out all character levels (because there's only 2 items that increase experience, which made it take a LONG time to level all the way). Also, the storyline may leave some confused and still asking questions..... but to me, that's just suspense and hope for a Blue Dragon 2 Some parts of the game were also boring, forcing you to run around and fight in numerous annoying battles against weaker enemies to find a certain item.


All in all, I rate this game as 9.75/10. Exceptional job, and I really hope to see a sequel!

theres a blue dragon anime. if u have a problem witht eh sotry, u can prob find it out on that show. i havent actually watched it tho, but my friend likes it.

I know there's an Anime. Haven't watched it though...... the game tells the whole story too. The anime would just have side-quest stuff.

I started playing this. It reminds me a lot of Kingdom hearts except in RPG. It's really amazing. I'm in the first disc still with lvl 15. But the graphics and gameplay are totally awesome. I agree with your review.
