Comdemned: Criminal Origins

I know I'm kinda doing old games, but hey, I just played them, and I have no monies for new games, soooo..... get over it Maybe if you haven't played any of these already, then maybe you will. Anyway, moving on........

Story: Simply amazing. The story was meant to scare the crap out of you, and trust me, if I had Depends on, I would have crapped myself a few times. I won't give anything away, but in a nutshell: A cop has a run-in with a serial killer who kills 2 other cops and leaves him as the one who killed the cops. Now he has to hunt down the serial killer and prove his innocence. Interested yet? I was. There's a major plot twist too, but I'm definitely not giving that away

Graphics: Stunning environments, for a game made in 2006. The character models could have used more work, but you'll be amazed with what you can find and use as a weapon from the surrounding environment. Very detailed buildings too..... especially the dark basement that's crawling with guys waiting to kill you Everything about the environments was made to make you feel scared.... it works.

Sound: Some interesting sounds as you're hitting someone with a flaming 2x4, or the butt of a shotgun, or chopping with a fire axe... even some interesting sounds when you're getting shot at or hit with something. I normally have my MP3 player going to listen to my music, but honestly, the music they put in here seems..... fitting for a horror game.

Overall: At some points, I was bored stiff, but others had me slightly jumping or wondering what the heck just busted through that window and disappeared behind me, or even wondering what's waiting behind that door..... But as a con, the character models really needed working on, and the game needed to be a little longer. Some chapters were too short, while others were just too long. I like the use of forensic tools to find out what happened at a crime scene, though.
This game may not be the best horror game out there, but it definitely set the stage for every other horror game to come. A solid 9.25 from me. Recommended for all the horror fans
