Yeah, I needed to rant.

TBH, yes, I do not like SquareEnix, I used to like them, or rather Squaresoft, but ever since they became SquareEnix I pretty much have just short of raw hatred for them (I remember Dragon Quest, but I'll have to see if they do the same thing to it).

It's just like what I told Alfred with the doctored screenshots, they focus so much on graphics that they are willing to lie and pass off false pictures as the truth, then they turn around and say that the pictures were not meant for promotional use, that's a downright lie simply because they put those shots out for use in magazines, obviously meaning that those were for at least some promotional use.

They lied, they went away from what made the FF series so great, and they went and made other lackluster games in the attempt to make a good looking game (Last Revenant, looked good, but sucked everywhere else is what I heard). They stood out at first, they tried to make quality games with good story and gameplay, then they went downhill IMO.

Going into FF13, they decide to make vehicles out of the summons, they ruined that IMO, summons are summons, not race cars or motorcycles. Then in the past, they had towns to explore and sidequests to grow in power with, which got tossed out the door in 13. I didn't mind the combat change, but when you make a game to linear that there is nothing to do other than to move on in the story, that's just boring. Most people like it, enough for it to score high in reviews and in opinions, but to me that just draws away from the experience, especially when you buy from a save point.

The CC series was pretty bad from what I heard, it seemed that SquareEnix did the series just to get money from people with the Wii, the first 3 were decent multiplayers, but it looked like no effort was put in everywhere else, then CB came along and it seemed that they did the same exact thing, only elsewhere, put everything in graphics and still put no effort everywhere else.

So yeah, if Square fans don't like me, that's fine, can't please everyone.

I tried to cheat, but I could never figure out the device... I wanted to get the legendaries that were special event only. I would have to agree with you in terms of cheating to battling, that just takes the fun out of all the hard work you do in rasing your pokemon, and someone just cheats to win.

I wanted to play 11 too, but pay 2 play prevented that because I couldn't afford it . Also, 12 was the last one on the PS2.

Turn based is okay for me, but obviously after 3, and a few other RPGs, I could never get into it again, it got tedious, especially since most RPGs are turn based and require the grinding which is, most of the time, forceful and boring. I still do some turn based, but I turned away from most RPGs now, especially the grindmaster FF series.

I was wanting CC:CB too, mostly since I was hoping for a good CC game for the Wii, I liked the first one for the GC, but obviously without people to play with it got too difficult, so hearing that CB was one player looked good to me. Then like you said, I started hearing that it wasn't all that good. I heard that it focused more on looking good than on gameplay (tedious and boring) and story (heard the story was meh), which also shows me that SquareEnix is wanting a good looking game rather than one that plays well. Other than for the Dragon Quest series (love those), I think I'll be avoiding SquareEnix from now on.
