New Xbox

I've been seriously considering selling my Ds, ansd putting it towards an xbox 360

However, I don't want to but one, only to have an xbox 720 come out a year later

I have heard rumors of a new xbox launching in '09

Is this true, and am I safe to buy a 360?

I wouldn't believe it. Microsoft has said that they expect the 360 to last until 2011. Besides, with how the 360 is doing right now, I don't think they'd release a new console next year.

That's way too soon. I'd reccomend buying a 360 just because of the online play. I was thinking the same thing when I got my 360 but then knew I would have plenty of time to play with it.

I don't think the next Xbox will be out until 2010-2011. You have plenty of time. I highly recommend buying a 360.
