After the success of the online petition for a LE version of Bioshock, the community was presented with a poll to see exactly what they wanted in it. That poll is now closed, and 2Kgames has announced exactly what the LE version will contain, as well as a contest to determine the box art.

Available on August 21st (the same day as the regular BioShock edition), the LE will include a Big Daddy figurine, a “Making Of” DVD, and a soundtrack CD. The LE packaging will also be an embossed graphic designed by the winner of the Cover Art Contest going on now at Cult of Rapture.

The LE will cost US$69.99, and in the US and Canada will be exclusively available at EB and Gamestop. The LE will also be available in other regions, with details coming soon. There will be a fan art contest to determine the box art of the LE. The contest has very few parameters, only that the art fit in a 5-1/2” x 7-1/2” (135mm by 190mm) space, and that there is no text in the art apart from the Bioshock logo should the entrant decide to use it. The winner will be chosen by a panel of 2K and Irrational representatives, with the top 3 entries receiving some nifty prizes.

Third Place will receive an exclusive Cult of Rapture tee shirt and a copy of the BioShock Limited Edition for both Xbox™ 360 and PC.

Second Place will receive an official Xbox 360™ faceplate, a Cult of Rapture tee, an exclusive Cult of Rapture download on Xbox Live, and a copy of the BioShock Limited Edition for both Xbox™ 360 and PC.

First Place will get their art on the cover of the BioShock Limited Edition, a copy of the BioShock Limited Edition for both Xbox™ 360 and PC, and an all-expense paid trip from their home anywhere in the world to the BioShock Launch Party in August.

Hurry up and get drawing, the box art contest ends on Wednesday, May 2. look for Bioshock to hit the shelves August 21st in the US, and on the 24th in the EU.
