Help With Defeating DeRosso

I'm sorry to bring this up, but could anyone give me some clues on how to defeat the vampire DeRosso on Bravely Default? As of right now my characters are at level 73 and the game is set on Easy, yet at this point in time the only thing I have accomplished is losing sleep, making my blood boil, and wishing there was a free Gunslinger asterisk that allowed that characters the ability to fire depleted uranium bullets, thus reducing the undead to something re-dead.

Any sort of information to get around this issue would be helpful, though I will admit that I may be better off not playing this game for a VERY long time (I should have just waited to get myself the New Nintendo 3DS and Xenoblade Chronicles for that system; at least I can make that game work in the end).

Oh dang, that sounds rough. You haven't found a walkthrough for this fight or anything like on IGN or something?

Talking

I just thought I would let everyone know that I beat DeRosso! I may as well explain how I did it...

First, it is absolutely crucial to have the following jobs mastered and set up in this fashion:

C1 - Pirate/Salve-Maker
C2 - Valkyrie/Templar
C3 - Red Mage/Time Mage
C4 - Spirit-Master/White Mage

Note that the first job listed is the stated job the character holds, while the second one is for the borrowed skills.

Second, one needs to have a butt-load of glitterbugs. The reason behind this is due to the fact that the Salve-Maker can put together two glitterbugs via Compounding, and this results in Divine Rain, an attack that deals DeRosso at least 2250 each time it is used, as he has a weakness for light (3375 if C1 has the sub-ability Attack Item Amp activated).

In that same vein, the Salve-Maker can combine a potion and a Hi potion to create a permanent HP Regen effect, which is crucial since DeRosso will exploit one's wounds with Bone Crush (the Time Mage's Regen spell also does this and I also use this to give everyone the Regen ability and therefore help speed things along).

Third, I make good use of the Templar ability Rampart, which stops one physical attack. Since DeRosso uses predominantly physical attacks (save for Graviga), it can save the party from excessive healing from C3 and C4.

Fourth, while not entirely necessary I use C1's Shell Split to make it easier for C2 and C3 to open up with some physical attacks and speed up the proceedings.

Finally, I bolstered all of the characters up to level 83, ten levels higher when I made my previous efforts (I would recommend no lower than level 80 for this battle).

I should point out that I was playing on Easy for this battle, but I'm certain this strategy will work on Normal and even Hard.

Dude, very nice. Thanks for all the info.

How many tries did it take you with this formula?

Only once, actually. And it was my fourth attempt overall.

Sweet, so that's definitely the key to making it happen then. Awesome work.
