Mario & Sonic London 2012 3DS screens revealed

While a number of us (myself included) have enjoyed playing Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games on the Wii, as all of us know there's always a version for the handheld that comes not far away.

Officially speaking, the Nintendo 3DS version of this game won't come out until Valentine's Day, but in the meantime over 300 images of game play, including parts of the exclusive Story mode. That ought to give plenty of 3DS owners something to drool over until the game is released.

The images can be found using this link:

As always, I'm all ears for everyone's opinions.

I'm afraid that I don't have one, nor do I have a major interest in getting one. Sorry.

All of that being said, I feel that this game will be a good one, especially since the 3DS version has at least elements of events that I wished the Wii version had. I particularly would have liked the Wii version to have replaced the Soccer/Futbol event with Water Polo.

There are a few reasons for why I say this.

First and foremost, there are already plenty of soccer/futbol games on the Wii; we didn't really need another one. Second, water polo was among the first team sports to be included in the Olympics, and it would be nice if it got the recognition it deserved. Finally, water polo's origins can be traced back to the British Isles, and so would be very appropriate for the title.

Still, I understand why the developers selected soccer/futbol for the final product. The so-called 'beautiful game' did originate from the British Isles, and it would be considered insulting to many people over there not to have it available. Oh well. Maybe sometime in the future a water polo game, either realistic or fantasy in nature, will come into being.
