Yes.
Yes. And YES! This is what I have been waiting for. Either the DS or VC, but I knew it would make its comeback to this gaming generation. And by the way, I'm Back again! I knew last time I said I would be back ... but bills piled and the internet suddenly loses priority status. Either way, I'm back on the net, and you all will surely see me around. For those of you who havent play CT, oh boy are you in for a ride. Just remember, 20 different endings=20 different ways to play my friends. If there was a groundbreaking game during the 16bit era that truly layed out a path for what you play now its CT. ![]()

Boo!
Yes I played and loved chrono trigger when I was just young. I was 6 and enjoyed it more than most games, but even then I didn't understand what a gem it was. As I got into my teens I saw all this fuss on the internet about what a great game it was and tried it out on an Emu. Unfortunately, that was back when most computers couldn't handle DVDs and mine could barely handle ZNES. So I waited until it came out on the PS, complete with cinematic cutscenes animated by the legendary Akira Toriyama himself. It was marvelous to play the entire game again (admittedly with longer load times than the SNES), and I am not ashamed to say it brought tears to my eyes. So one day I'm on one of my favorite game news websites and I see this teaser trailer that looks very 'chrono trigger-ish' but doesn't say anything. With a bit of Wikipedia searching I learn that Square Enix is porting Chrono to the DS. What? A Port? I'm sorry Square, but its already been done. I bought your ported game over 5 years ago on the PS and it was great. I was so excited when I first saw your ad because I thought you were doing remake, but all that Chrono is getting is another lousy port. I've already beaten your game over ten times (on the PS and ZNES). I'm not blowing another 40 bucks just to do it again with lower resolution. If you have never played Chrono Trigger before and think this might be a good way to find out what the fuss is all about, take my advice. Go on Ebay and pick up the PS version. They come to around the same price as a new DS game, but boast a large collection of cinematic cutscenes (in full screen resultion) that the DS will be completely unable to match. Don't waste your money. Last edited by Eriktheguy; 07-30-2008 at 02:40 PM. |
