I have a McAfee Firewall, and I have the WiFi connector installed. When the firewall is off everything works fine and my Wii can access the internet. When the firewall is turned on, even on the lowest setting, it blocks the device from transmitting the signal. The program itself is allowed, but I think the firewall is blocking access to the USB port itself. Does anyone know how to fix this, and give intenet access to the USB port?

Thanks, but I'm looking for a way to be able to get online without turning off my firewall.

Has anybody ever gotten that annoying 86070 error code? it happens about 50% of the time when i'm searching for an opponent on pokemon battle revolution. i mean i usually just try again and it MAY successfully find somebody, but sometimes it happens 4 or even 5 times in a row. nintendo support hasn't helped, my anti-virus system doesn't have a firewall that u can just turn off but i did try turning off the main component of it (i got the error code when searching for my 2nd opponent when i did that). im about to call the number on the nintendo support page unless anyone here has any other suggestions.

I have a wireless internet connection and I dont have this problem, but reading on another forum (cant remember which one) it can also have something todo with which isp supplier you have. AOL is a no no if I remember rightly snd dial up is a big pain also. I'm on Virgin (aka telewest, blueyonder and NTL). Also every firewall needs setting to accept each piece of equipment you use, so try contact your firewall service provider yoo. Hope this helps.

Instead of a USB get ethernet (the yellow cable) it is much more faster than the usb version.

I just noticed that in the manual for the connector that it warns about using the Wii with the connector if you get a message about a hi speed usb device plugged into a non high speed usb port. I use the connector with the Wii to use the channels that require the internet and I never had a problem. I was just wondering if I would have a problem trying to play games online.
