I have a Wi-Fi Problem.
It's hard to explain, but I'll do my best. Now the way my Internet works is this. My Internet Service Provider has this big tower, alright. And on top of my house is this little Antennae type thing. It's a square box on a stick with flashing lights. It connects to the tower with waves or something, I don't know.
From this antennae, a cord runs down into the room right below it. It wasn't planned that way, just a coincidence. Normally this cord would connect into a little black box that plugs into a wall, from which a phone line runs to my modem. However, I have a VOiP phone. Instead of the phone line running from the little black box to my computer, it runs to the VOiP box. From this box runs two phone cords, one to my phone, one to my computer. For my phone to work,my computer has to be connected to the Internet even with it's off. Now, finally, here's the problem. When you turn off the computer and then turn it back on, for some strange reason it doesn't realize it's connected to the Internet. When you click on "Connect to Zianet (PPPOE)", that's my ISP and service by the way, it tells you to connect but when you click okay it just continuously tries to connect stupidly not realizing it is, in fact, already connected. This didn't use to be a problem because I could still browse the Internet as normal. My web browser didn't care what my computer thought. However, I recently bought the WI-Fi connector. Since this goes into the USB port, it does care. When I try to connect the Wii it says that it "can't connect." It's doing the same thing my computer does. How can I fix this? |
