okay, here you go.
1. you need a CONSTANT internet connection. this means that the line must be dedicated to uploads/downloads. cable internet connections, t1/t3 connections and DSL are all dedicated lines. any of these will work. any other than these will not. (or if somehow, someway, you had a fiber connection...that would obviously work too)
2. you need either a.) a wireless router or b.) a nintendo usb wifi connector to plug into your computer. either of these pieces of hardware will provide the wireless signal that will enable your wii to access the internet.
3. the wii comes with integrated wireless capabilities. this means you don't have to do anything to prepare it to accept a wireless signal. it's ready for the internet straight out of the box.

that's the wireless route. i'm not sure if the wii will have an ethernet port to plug directly into your router/modem, but i would be surprised if it doesn't (someone that knows, want to help me?)

do you plug in your cable to the router and that's it?

yes, it's called either a patch cable or an ethernet cable, and it runs from your router to your wii, or from your modem to your wii.

i would say that dsl is the minimum, yes.

i have a question i have read that you have to have the reglular wii controller to do the vc games will a gamecube controller work or will i have to buy the one for the wii.

everything i've read has indicated that the classic controller would be used for the vc. haven't heard anything about using a gc controller...

the wii does NOT have a rj45 (ethernet) port on it, they're selling an usb ethernet adapter if you do not have wireless.

ive been told from friends that you can use a gamecube controller instead of the classical controller if you want
