Please Help! I cant connect my Wii using the LAN adapter!!
I've been trying ALL DAY to connect my Wii with the LAN adapter and it wont work. I cannot get it to pass a connections test. And now when i try to choose an empty connection there is none now!

I have a older computer so i am using a 5 port ethernet adapter thing but that shouldnt matter right? then I read that u may have to reboot your Wii but i see NO INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO DO THAT!!

I think the problem is with my internet networking. I just recently got cable modem but before i had it using DSL. Do i need to change something within my computers settings since i am getting the internet through a different source now?? (Something in the control panel or something?) Because my Wii is not recognizing my internet and i know i have the LAN corrected correctly. As u can tell i'm very computer illiterate.

Can anyone please help me!!

Modded Wii

I have just bought a Wii with a modchip in it, not sure which oe as I bought it at an electronics market in Seoul though.

Does the having the mod chip in it, which makes it code free affect getting any firmware updates?

I am not planning on hooking it up to the internet either, so does this solve any potential problem?

First off, having a mod chip in your wiu is illegal, so its not the greatest thing in the world to do to your wii. But since it came with it, I'd just say absolutely don't update ur wii. This will brick your wii meaning you can never use it again.
Good luck!

I thought that would probaby be the case. Are the updates only done online or do the games come with some updates on the discs as well?

To be more specific, having a modchip in your wii is illegal in most places. Australialand is fine with it and so BeGa gets to enjoy his fancy modded wii without any fear of legal repercussions.

Updates are done online AND when you put a new game in the wii.

If I were you, and I lived somewhere where modding is frowned upon, I would start looking for a way to uninstall that modchip.

Sensor Bar Question

Hello all, new to the forum. Will be getting my Wii on Wednesday. One thing I am confused about is the sensor bar and where to put it as I have a 65" TV. The tv is over 5 feet tall. I have read here it is better to put it on a chair in front of the TV, but I am just confused. Now because I havent recieved it yet I may be worrying for nothing, but I would love your input. If not its cool. Thanks in advance.

I have a 52" and I put the sensor bar on top of the tv. It works just fine. Your TV is a foot bigger than mine though so I dunno.
