Nintendo Wii Problems
I dont know if this has been posted b4 but it appears that some Wiis when left on with wiiconnect24 on to long, Black lines appear and appears in every channel. People say its either from the wiiconnect or a massive overheating and yes I have tested it on a multituded of different tvs and yet it appears the problem is internal for the wii.
While anyways my wii has been plagued with that problem and I am currently waiting for nintendo to ship me a box or box label. Does anyone know how to prevent the problems or exactly what the problem is? |

It could be a problem with the graphics card, either overheating (in which case you can move the Wii to a more ventilated area or turn off WiiConnect24) or malfunctioning. For the latter, you'll need to send your Wii off to Nintendo for repairs.
Also, some people have reported that plugging the Wii into a power strip with other power hungry devices can cause those lines to appear. Another problem may be that the AV cables need to be readjusted. If none of that fixes it, then you should see if the lines appear on the TV even when not playing the Wii, which means it's a problem with the TV, not the Wii. Hope this helps!

i havent seen this thread in abut a year, basicly though its unlikley wiis will suffer from this, however some wiis will, my sugestion is to paly it safe and buy a fan like i did.
heres what not to do, dont hold back, put it on wii coenct 24, so if there is a problem u will know and u can send it in and get a fresh one. but like i said do as i do and keep it on wiiconect 24, with a fan. i recomend the fanstand from gamestop, its blue glowy k3wlness

That happened to me. I'm sending my Wii in for repairs tomorrow. Brawl has since become a daily thing in my life so we will see how that goes for me lol. I'm gonna be so bored when I'm not working. But hey, Springs here, maybe It will force me to get outside a little more.

I noticed that my wii was getting hot when it was on idle and since it was standing vertically on my carpet floor i was like oh wow. Then i discovered that that plastic thing with the clear plastic round circle at the bottom was a verticle stand for my wii and not a place for me to put my wii mote. Once i put up the verticle stand it didn't get hot anymore. I didnt know that it was a verticle stand until i was going down the accessories isle in a electronics store and i saw a verticle stand that had fan built into it that run off the usb port on the back of the wii.

Well I've left it on recently, and nothing was wrong. However, my Wii had flickering dots interfering with the graphics, but in this case, it didn't have to do with the WiiConnect. But it's the same component being damaged.

I had the same issue. They didn't even bother fixing it. They just gave me a brand new Wii with all my data transferred over. Only thing dumb is that when you get your new Wii your Mii's aren't editable since they are technically transfers.
