Wii Internet Channel....worth the points?

This might be a really useful or a really dumb question but can you get viruses from using the internet on your Wii?

yup! I advise everyone to get the wii internet channel too. you can do many stuff with it. Like watching videos on your wii from youtube.

Currently ffwd, a video discovery site allows you to watch youtube and dailymotion videos on your wii. It leverage on social networking so you could recommend or see what videos your friends are watching.

Currently they are running a promotion to give away 150 wii internet channels to their private beta users for free. Here is what you need to do if you want the wii internet channel.

1. Go to ffwd.com
2. Sign up as a beta users for FREE using the promo code fwic
3. After you finish opening the account, click on the top right hand corner with the words "use ffwd on your wii"
4. enter your wii address (the 16 digits no.)
5. wait for ffwd to send you the wii internet channel and enjoy watching those videos on your wii

yea, when it first came out it was free. thats how most of us got it free.

i guess it pretty useful. it can do basic stuff, and there are some arcades out there that are designed for the wii internet. id recomend it for when ur liek sick or lazy or sumthing, but i dont use it THAT much. it takes too long to type, so id go insane on wiispace.

Also the free wii internet channel is for the 1st 150 beta users that sign up.

Slow load times and a bit difficult to use with things like Facebook but apart from that worth every Wii point

Ya i would really recommend the internet channel. If you do get it i reccommend to get a different wireless keyboard for wii than the computer, because its a pain in the *** (just stars) to unplug the one on your computer and plug it into the wii 20000 times. But ya i reccommend it if you got a wireless keyboard.(:

I think it's a worthy purchase, especially if you have a wireless USB keyboard you can hook up with it. Typing with the Wiimote only is a pain unless you've had a good amount of practice, but even then it is tedious.

Michaelm2: The Wii, as far as I'm aware of, does not have antivirus software. You cannot download programs or antivirus software either. Just use it wisely and you'll be fine.
