Complete List of Wii Error Codes/Messages
After a bit of research from the Wii Manual/sites/other resources, I have created this list of all of the Wii Error Codes and messages, some of them just say what they mean/what to do, because I could not find the actual message that is shown on the Wii console. Sorry about how long the list is.
Nintendo Wii Error Codes: --#208014= It appears the card you are using has expired. Please contact the card's issuer for further assistance or to obtain a replacement. --#208015= It appears the card you are using has expired. Please contact the card's issuer for further assistance or to obtain a replacement. --#208016= It appears that the card number you have entered is invalid. Verify and re-enter the card number, and ensure it is entered correctly. If you are still experiencing this problem, please contact your card's issuer for further assistance. --#208017= It appears the card you are using was declined. Please contact the card's issuer for further assistance. --#208018= It appears that the card number you have entered is invalid. Verify and re-enter the card number, and ensure it is entered correctly. If you are still experiencing this problem, please contact your card's issuer for further assistance. --#208019= It appears that the zip or postal code you have entered is invalid. Verify the zip or postal code you are entering is correct, and try again. Contact your card's issuer (e.g., your bank) and make sure the zip or postal code you are entering is the correct one for the card's billing address. --#209826= An error has occurred. Please wait a moment and try again. --#32030= The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection servers appear to be down for maintenance. Please try your connection again later. --#32002= The Wii console was unable to receive an update from Nintendo, due to a technical issue with our servers. Please try again later. --#32003= There is not enough available space in your Wii console's internal memory to install the most recent update. Please clear room in the Wii console's internal memory. To do this, you can transfer certain items to a compatible SD Card, or simply delete any unneeded save game data or downloads. --#32004= Satellite and dial-up are the most common causes of this error message. Try waiting a few hours (if you have cable or DSL) until connecting again, as there may be high internet traffic, especially if there is a new Wii update. Also, your internet service provider (ISP) may not be compatible with the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. If using a Wireless router, try adjusting the channel that your router broadcasts on. Channels 1 and 11 are highly recommended. If you using a Netgear branded router, try changing the SPI firewall settings. If using the Wi-Fi USB Connector, try temporarily disabling any security programs on your PC, or added these following applications/files to your firewall “trusted/allowed” list: -Nintendo Wi-Fi Connector USB (NintendoWFCReg.exe) -Setup.exe (when installing the USB Connector)- -SoftAPInstDrv.bin -mdriver.exe --#50420-50422= The Wii LAN Adapter has not been properly installed. The Wii LAN Adapter is not yet available. It is anticipated it will be released early to mid-January, 2007. Please note: Non-Nintendo LAN Adapters are not compatible with the Wii console. If you are not attempting to use the Wii LAN Adapter, check to make sure you have not selected "Wired" as the connection type in the Wii console's internet connection settings. If you have selected "Wired," erase that connection setting and start over, being sure to select "Wireless" or "Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector." For a step-by-step connection guide, please click here. --#51000-51099= Try adjusting the "Channel" your wireless router broadcasts on. We highly recommend setting your wireless router to either channel 1 or 11. This can potentially increase the download speed. Please make sure that your router is not on our list of incompatible routers. Click here to view the list of known routers that are experience shows are incompatible. If your router is listed, then it is likely not compatible with the Wii console's online connection. If your router is not listed as being incompatible, please proceed to step #2. Verify that the proper Connection File (1, 2, or 3) is selected in the Wii System Settings. If you have multiple connection files setup, and you have recently received a system update, it is possible that the update has caused the Wii console to select a different Connection File. Click here for step-by-step instructions on viewing your connection settings. Make sure that your network’s name (SSID) matches exactly to what you have entered in the Wii console's settings. Log in to your router using the default IP (consult the router’s owner’s manual for assistance). Look for the section for SSID (typically in the “wireless settings” area). After you find the SSID (network name), verify in the Internet Settings of your Wii console that the SSID is appearing exactly as listed in your router. This includes making sure capitalization, spaces, or special characters match exactly. --#51130= Try changing the channel your Wireless router broadcasts on. Channels 1 or 11 are highly recommended. --#51300-51399= The Wii console is not able to connect to the access point. Check Nintendo’s router info for special notes, if available, for your router. Click here to go to Nintendo’s Wireless Router lookup page. Use the drop-down box to select, if available, your router manufacturer. Click on your router's model number, if available. --#52100-52199= Try manually entering in your settings to your Wii console (for example, your SSID). Try adjusting the channel that your router broadcasts on. Channels 1 or 11 are highly recommended. Follow these steps for entering your router’s setting manually. Click the "Start" button in the lower left-hand corner of your computer. Click "Run." Type "cmd" into the box and press Enter. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press Enter. Enter in the exact same values for Primary DNS and Secondary DNS into the Wii console. If using a Wi-Fi USB connector, go to your network connection settings on your computer and make sure Internet Sharing is enables on the USB Connector’s connection. --#52200-52299= The Access Point you are attempting to connect from is not connected to the internet or a firewall is blocking the Wii console's connection to the internet. --#52230= Unable to connect to the server. Please try again later. Visit support.nintendo.com for assistance --#52400-52499= The Wii console is not able to connect to your Proxy server because the account settings are incorrect (such Username and Password).. Proxy servers are typically found in areas that have many internet connections, such as office buildings, dormitories, etc. --#52500-52599= The Wii console is not able to connect to your Proxy server because the account settings are incorrect (such Username and Password).. Proxy servers are typically found in areas that have many internet connections, such as office buildings, dormitories, etc. The next part will be posted sometime soon. ![]()

Part Two is here.
![]() --#54000-54099= The Wii console was disconnected from the internet. --#107310= This problem stems from a technical issue with the Wii's flash memory, when it is not properly formatted. A common misconception is that this problem is permanent and requires you to send your Wii back to Nintendo --#109107= It appears the WiiConnect24 service is being blocked by Parental Controls in place on the Wii console. --#109139= WiiConnect24 is not enabled --#110210-110213= WiiConnect24 error. Call as at (800) 255-3700 so that we may provide you with further assistance. --#208002= There appears to be a problem with the billing address you have entered for the credit card. --#204038= Please try again. You can download the software again without using any Wii points. Solution= Try again at a later time. --#204800-205643= If you are receiving an error while attempting to purchase items on the Wii Shop Channel, you may want to use another credit card, or contact the credit card provider for the card that you were attempting to use. --#205926-205928= Although the console continues to operate for normal game play, these online connection errors cannot be fixed without having your Wii console serviced. Please click here for repair options. --#206401= You may receive this error while attempting to link your MyNintendo account to the Wii Store. This comes as a result of non-alphanumeric characters in either your login name or password. To work around this problem, simply remove these characters, apply the changes to your MyNintendo account, and try again. --#208010= Nintendo is experiencing temporary server issues, which are preventing your card information from being validated. Please wait a few hours. --#209576= This Error Code usually indicates that the console timed out when attempting to communicate with Nintendo's servers. Try adjusting your router’s channel, try a manual connection setup, make sure there are no microwaves running, or cordless phones nearby that may interfere the connection, and also, make sure you are using a broadband connection. --#209593= Try adjusting your router’s channel, move your router closer to your Wii, or the Wii Shop channel may be temporarily down. --#209600= Errors within this range usually indicate that the console timed out when attempting to communicate with Nintendo's servers. How are you attempting to connect your Wii console online? Try adjusting your router’s settings/channel, disabling any firewall/security programs. --#209601= Errors within this range usually indicate that the console timed out when attempting to communicate with Nintendo's servers. How are you attempting to connect your Wii console online? Try adjusting your router’s settings/channel, disabling any firewall/security programs. --#220602= DNS propagation issues - Error 220602 Change your Wi-fi router to channel 1 or 11, Move your Wii nearer to your Wi-fi router or Change your DNS servers - swap the secondary and primary one round - this may fix it. Source Check your router's broadcast settings to find out if it is set to "G", "B", or "Mixed." Mixed typically works best, but try all three to see if it improves the network connection to the Wii console. Make sure that any other interfering devices, such as microwaves and cordless phones, are turned off. Wireless keyboards and mice may also cause interference. Wii Disc Errors: --Unable to read the disc" / "Disc could not be read Ensure that you are properly loading a Game Disc. * If your console is placed vertically, the disc label will face to the right. * If your console is placed horizontally, the disc label will face upwards If you know you are inserting the Game Disc correctly, but are still have problems with only one game (or if you only have one game), try cleaning the Game Disc. --If your screen appears frozen at the Language select screen, we have found that to be related to the Sensor Bar. Please try the following: Ensure that the Sensor Bar cord is plugged to the back of the console, and is placed properly at the center of your TV screen. For detailed directions on setting up the Sensor Bar, please click here. Check to be sure the Wii Remote is synced to the console, by using the Power button on the Wii Remote to turn the console on. (The power button is the small white button with the red symbol in the top-left corner, just above the Control Pad). If this doesn't work, try to sync the Wii Remote. Once synced, try to turn the power on the console on and check for proper response. Make sure that the Wii Remote is being used between 3' and 8' directly in front of the TV and that there are no bright light sources affecting the Wii Remote's operation (review Game Play Guidelines for more information), and that the Sensor Bar is placed properly (see Sensor Bar setup). If you are still experiencing problems after trying the steps above, there could be a problem with your Sensor Bar. Please read the following: The Sensor Bar has five infrared lights on each side of the bar that the Wii Remote uses to determine its position. If these lights aren't working, then the Wii Remote cursor will not display on the screen, and you won't be able to navigate the setup screens. To see these lights, you will need a digital camera or cell phone camera with an LCD display. After making sure the Sensor Bar is plugged in and the power to the console turned on, direct the camera at the Sensor Bar so that it is displayed in the LCD of the camera. If the five infrared lights can be seen on both sides of the Sensor Bar, the Sensor Bar is working. While the position/angle of the camera may need to be adjusted slightly, the lights are fairly easy to see in the LCD display. -- If you get an "Insert start up disc" message after powering on your Wii console for the first time, there is an issue with the operating system of the console and it will need to be repaired or replaced. Please call 1-800-255-3700 to discuss available options. -- Won't accept discs or discs immediately eject (including "An error has occurred eject disc" message) This indicates a problem with the Wii console and it will need to be repaired. Please call 1-800-255-3700 to discuss available options Part Three is on it's way!

It took me a real long time to look up each code, and put it in a word document. But it's finally finished.
Here's part three, the last one.____________________ -- All other problems Source An "Error" has occurred Source Discs eject on their own Source Disc not recognized Source Problems with one specific game Check the bottom of the Game Disc (the side without any labels or writing) for any dirt or damage (such as cracks, scratches, etc.). If the game looks significantly damaged, such as with scratches or cracks, it will need to be replaced. Game Disc replacement link. If the game looks dirty (fingerprints, smudges), try cleaning the Game Disc. If the problem persists, the Game Disc will need to be replaced. Game Disc replacement link. Can you try the Game Disc in another Wii console? If so, this can help narrow down the problem: -Yes, tried the Game Disc in another Wii console but the Game Disc still will not play: The problem appears to be with the Game Disc. Game Disc replacement link. -Yes, tried the Game Disc in another Wii console and the Game Disc worked properly: The problem appears to be with the Wii console itself, and a repair is necessary. Please click here for repair options. No, you are not able to try the Game Disc in another Wii console: At this time it is difficult to determine if the problem is with the Wii console or the Game Disc, and we recommend a repair for your Wii console and game. Please click here for repair options. Problems with some games (not all) Are you able to play one type of Game Disc but not another (for example, you can play Wii Game Discs but not Nintendo GameCube Game Discs)? If so, then it is likely there is a problem with the Wii console and it will need to be repaired. Repair options Check the bottom of the Game Disc (the side without any labels or writing) for any dirt or damage (such as cracks, scratches, etc.). Problems with All Game Discs Are you experiencing a "delayed reaction" when trying to play your games? Check your connection. Do you have the Wii connected through a DVR, such as a TiVo, or satellite system with a built-in DVR? If you are, we recommend connecting directly to the TV or VCR and not the DVR device. These devices intentionally create a slight delay in displaying the picture, which would appear as though you were getting a delayed reaction from your controller. Are you connected to a projection TV? Some models of project TVs can cause a delay when playing video games. Try another television and test for proper response. If you have removed all devices like those described above, and have tried another TV, but are still experiencing the delay, try another Wii Remote with your system. If a different Wii Remote works, the original Wii Remote will need to be replaced. Please click here for repair options. If the problem continues with another Wii Remote, then problem is most likely with the Wii console and it will need to be repaired. Please click here for repair options. _______________________________________ Thanks for taking your time coming to this thread, and I hope it helps you with future problems.. I know it’s a bit long, there are sure a lot of Wii Error messages. ![]() Thanks to WiiErrors.com for info, and thanks to support.nintendo.com.
